I know there is a thread about the way to tell. But I also know alot of ladies still don't know. So I would appreciate if those of you who KNOW when your have moisture or protein overload list your symptoms you see when you properly Diagnose........ (twighlight zone music)

You've upset the balance of your hair, it is mad and just not having it....

Your snap on the gloves and whip out the conditioners, and mositurizing caps, steamers, hair dryers, and spray bottles, Ladies your now entering the balancing zone..... :spinning::spinning:

If we could keep it like this:

I know I have Protein Over Load When:

I know I have Moisture Over Load When:

I know I have Protein Over Load When:

I see little pieces of hair snapping all over the place. when my ends are no damaged but they are brittle, even though this can yell several reasons, I tend to know just when it is Protein overload.

I have had no breakge and put my protein in today and experienced the brittle snaps, I knew it was going to kinda happen, but I am getting a relaxer and I am nervous to not do the protein.

I know I have Moisture Over Load When:

My hair is like Mr. Stretch from fantastic four! It feels too stretchy hard to picture but it just feels like it should have popped already.

My hair feels hard and rough.

I know I have Moisture Over Load When:
When my hair feels soggy when wet (think wet toilet paper). This has only happened once. It was the result of me trying the baggy method a few years back; not a good idea for my hair :nono:.

I know I have moisture overload when my wet hair stretches, stretches, stretches then finally breaks.

I know I have moisture overload when...I wet my hair in the shower and it only takes 30 seconds or so to completely soak my hair. It usually takes 1-2 minutes with the current pressure of my showerhead.

I know I have protein overload when....LOTS of little broken peices of hair appear out of nowhere on my detangle days. I usually only have shed hair with 2 or 3 broken peices.

I know I have Protein Over Load When:
my hair gets really limp, lifeless and dull

I know I have Moisture Over Load When:
even after applying moisture cremes to it, my hair still looks and "acts" the same

I know I have moisture overload when my hair virtually melts when its wet, I find a bunch of hair in my comb or bathtub, and I find hair in certain bodily crevices from where it melted off my head and slid down my body. :lachen:

I don't know what protein overload feels like and hopefully I'll never know lol.

My hair feels dry and snaps off when I have protein overload.

My hair feels heavenly soft and snaps off when I have moisture overload.

My hair is balance when it feels strong and soft at the same time. Also,I have beaucoup body!!!!

Moisture overload - hair feels mushy, gummy....like a swamp (not that I would know what that feels like but...)

Protein overload - hair is stiff, rough and wiry.

I know I have protein overload....when I can't get a comb through my wet hair, my last wash on Saturday I did a black rinse to keep my permanent dye job fresher longer. the rinse has protein in it, then I used a protein shampoo to wash. I could barely detangle my hair it was strong like iron lmao!

my hair doesn't snap off but it just feels a little too strong, so strong like I could lift weights with the strands lol! guess that's good?

I've never had moisture overload.

Funnily enough I have never had moisture overload- not yet anyway.

I know I have had protein overload when I see little broken hairs all over the place.

I know i have moisture over load if in the shower final rinse my hair feels amazingly soft, almost mushy like. So soft and mushy my hair can't stay in its shower hair clip. Then when I'm detangling I know its over load because I have a lot of broken hair and it stretches. I know its moisture verses protein the way it break, its always after I DC or Co wash with moisturizing conditioner (after using to much moisture), and its always a lot of pieces verses very few from typical detangling breaking I experience.

I don't think I experience protein over load

but I'm experience product over load .... when my hair needs to be clarified. Extra dry, dull, ends get angry at me. When I airdry my ends feel extra crispy, dry real fast. I know its product over load because it usually happens weeks after my last clarify and can happen after few moisture co washes. I know this for sure because it has happen to me same way a few times before.

The right balance is light softer easy to comb hair with minimal breakage.
