Girl, here is the thing, my dad has one of those snake things so I get off my couch, put my real clothes back on and go to my parents house to get it and you know what...its not even here. He said he left it at his office :wallbash:

Why don't you use a hair catcher to avoid getting your tub's pipes clogged? From what I hear, products like Liquid Plumber and Draino can cause damage to plumbing. I've never had a clogged pipe (thanks to hair catchers).

I am going to have to find one of those things. I think I saw a 3 pack of them on amazon. I will order some tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestion. This is not fun at all.

You can save on the shipping and handling and look for them at Walmart and Home Depot. It's definitely worth it.

Are you in a house or an apartment? The city can/will snake it up to so many hundred feet to clear the drain for free. :yep: We had to do that a few weeks ago. They might/will also sanitize your tub if you have/had a blockage or backup. Call the city and ask. I've got the number around here somewhere. I'll PM it if you need it.

Good grief.....lol.... my tub has been draining realy slow too I think i need to just go ahead and check out walmart, home depot, walgreen or whater to get a zip-it that's what its called and some hair catchers:yep:

To avoid this happening to me, I use a plunger specifically for my tub after every heavy use of products to keep the pipes clear. Believe it or not, this actually works. My mom taught me this with the kitchen sink and so I simply decided to have a plunger for every sink and tub in the house.

ITA. I used to have clogged pipes until someone on here posted about hair catchers and I've never had a problem since. I bought mine at Bed Bath and Beyond and it really works. It's good to tell how much hair you're shedding during your wash also. Good Luck!

Well, you tub murderer (couldn't resist:grin:) you need a zip it and a drain cover to catch the hair before it goes down the drain and chokes the life out of your tub again.

Sears also has the zip it - it was less than $5.

My gma used to use a combination of baking soda and vinegar - smelled bad, was a lot of fun (like making a volcano), but worked like a dream for her. She would put it in, cover with the stopper, put a couple inches of really hot water in - one person in the kitchen, one in the bathroom - pull the stoppers at the same time and powee! those drains would gurgle clear. And it's kind of fun too.

A few years ago, my tub clogged up and I was putting drano down it, but my handyman told me I didn't know what I was doing, so he took off the thing that you flip up and down and unclogged it that way. I do it myself now. I do use the vinegar and baking soda in my shower and sinks, but it does not work for the tub. I have to unscrew the flipper thing and pull it out to unclog the tub.

I use something called Liquid Fire. It can be found at the hardware store. BE VERY CAREFUL when using it. You can hear it burning stuff as it works it way down the drain.
