I kept cutting and cutting it down to about 4 to 5 inches. The reason is because I had a lye relaxer done and then I couldn't afford to get it done again and had been using No-lye. So about 2 years ago I got my hair done the best I had ever got it done in a solan in Phoenix. But it cost $85 and I never found out what kind of relaxer she used! We rarely have an extra $85 and since then we have moved back to Denver and I have had it done twice but it wasn't even close to what I had in Phoenix. Well since I have been using No-lye I have had some (well quite a bit of) breakage and I kind of need to start over with my hair so I went chop-chop!:spinning:

My question is what is the best lye relaxer. I need a touch up pretty soon and I have decided that I have to skill to apply a lye relaxer myself. One day I may be interested in Phyto but right now that is out of my price range. Also the sylist used this pink pressing cream and it kept my hair looking great. What is the best pressing cream or heat protector.

I had a mizani relaxer like 5 years ago and it did wonders to my hair. It is kinda hard to buy or even find if your arent a stylist but some BSS have it. But thats my recommendation. :)

I am kind of new. Please tell me what is ORS. I have seen people talk about it but I cant figure out what it stands for or is it just plain ORS?:p

Organic root stimulator- Lonei used this relaxi- check out her thread- it's pretty active. - I love their mositurizer- I'm thinking about using it when I touch up.

Just stay away from motions, if you need any self relaxing tips, just PM me. I think you should practice it with conditioner first though.

...good tip.
Funny about motions....i just used it and i like what its done for my hair...loads of body, bounce, softness.....:p

I understand that all lye relaxers are good so far as they are moisturising lye relaxers. The rest probably depends on the texture of my hair. I think Motions was good for me because my hair strands are very fine

I have very thick course strands of hair and every No-lye that I have used over the years may seem fine for a week or two but then my hair gets super dry no matter how much I condition or moisturize it. However Dark and Lovely was the worst or one of the worst that I have ever used. I know different things work for different people, but my hair takes lye much better and I have only had it done 3 times in my life.

I have even tried some of those natrual relaxers and those things dry and dry my hair out and make it feel like straw. I have tried Bodifer which was ok at first but then it was dry and too under processed for my taste. I guess if I shaved my head and started over 100% then maybe I could get away with that. but I can't live with a shaved head.
