I just got the Redken Real Control Mask

I got it at a beauty supply store in Manhattan. I also saw it in Queens Center Mall in a store. It was weird actually, it was like a beauty supply store/bodega in one. Like they literally had Chi Silk Infusion and flatirons in one aisle and then Vitamin Water and Doritos in the other. Can't remember the name though.

:lachen::lachen::lachen: Only In NY :lol:

INTERGALATICARTIST!!! You tried it out yet?

I was so happy to ride by a hair salon and see a sign that said New Redken Products 20% off. They gave me a free sample of the RC shampoo and conditioner and I bought the mask and leave-in. The only thing I didn't buy was the heat protectant because I was planning on rollersetting.

I tried it at soon as I got home and I REALLY REALLY like it!!! I can't remember my hair feeling this moisturized in quite awhile. And it's really soft and silky-feeling too. Dare I say it, but this may be a staple for me from now on. :yep:

I bought this today. After checking at 3 salons in one mall, a Supercuts, and calling 4 salons listed on the Redken web site, I found a beauty supply store in another mall that has the mask. I plan to try it this weekend.

When I went to Supercuts and Mastercuts they had the shampoo, conditioner, and Thermal Resist, but not the mask or Crema Care.

When I called Trade Secret they said they have Real Control, including the mask. It's not out on the shelves yet, but they have it in stock. But I bought it at a store called Beauty Eternity that has it for less than Trade Secret.

I used the Real Control shampoo and mask yesterday. I used my Nexxus Headdress leave-in since I don't need to buy any more leave-in. Well, actually I didn't need to buy any more shampoo or deep conditioner but anyway :look:  ........

The reason that I wanted to try the mask is that the Redken web site says it "Instantly detangles and improves combability so hair resists breakage". After I washed & towel dried I applied the mask, put on a plastic cap, and sat under my hood dryer for 20 minutes, then I left it on for about 10 more minutes while I had a snack :dinnertime:......

It did detangle well, and my hair is 9 months post, so I would recommend this to anyone who's transitioning or stretching. But my ORS Replenishing Conditioner detangles just as well and it costs less, so I'll stick to that. I like the Real Control shampoo also - it does well at moisturizing. I used it right after clarifying with Redken Cleansing Cream. But I prefer my CON shampoo to Real Control.

As far as softness and moisture I think my CON and ORS are just as good, but I may try the mask again when I'm further along in my transition or when I'm completely natural.

I just purchased the shampoo, mask and crema care leave in. The salon gave me a sample bottle of the thermal resist spray, which they told me is also a good moisturizing leave in.

I've been on the hunt for a good leave in, so hopefully one of the two will work. I just washed my hair, so I'll post results next weekend.:look:

I've gone looking for it too and can't find it. They say they haven't gotten it in yet (JCPenney, Regis, Trade Secrets, etc.)

Of which product?

Lemme know... I'm too lazy to do them all at one.

These products do contain shea butter, which I think is responsible for the extra extra moisturization I got going on. :yep:
I would like to see the list of ingredients for the mask please! :yep:

I've actually been usin the real control mask for about a month now (finishing up my first jar) and my hair loves it. Its really thick and concentrated. It detangles pretty well and leaves my hair soft but also strong.

I want to try the leave in stuff but I'm tryn to use up the othrs I have before I buy more. But for me... The mask is a keeper...

Atleast for now.

ETA: oh, for the ladies who can't find the line in stores/salons, try ebay. That's where I got it when I couldn't find it anywhere.

I purchased the last bottle from Amazon. I hope I like it.
I am on a hunt for REAL moisturizing conditioners :yep: to alternate with my WEN.

I tried it on my mom's hair, which is thinner and a looser texture than mine, and it worked well for her. :yep:

Here is my review of the Mask...

I washed 2x with the Real Control poo, nice lather and smell. Didn't leave my hair stripped either. I then applied the mask which is thick and creamy. I steamed my hair for 30 min under turbie twists/plastic caps and a heating cap.

The result after rinsing was soft, smooth, easy to detangle hair!! I really like this stuff and the smell is just right for me. I also purchased the Leave In Cream, which I applied before rollersetting and sealed with a serum. My set came out bouncy and light and the color of my hair appeared darker. It has a heavy feel, which to me means my hair is saturated with moisture. This line is a keeper for me. Hope this helps someone.
