I indigo'ed for the first time....

And you are so right about the Smell. But the Shine is Amazing.

And it only gets better IMO, the more you do it.

Yes ma'am! I was all happy (I had used saran wrap because I ran out of the plastic caps) and lo and behold I started to itch a bit.... when I looked in the mirror (I was getting excited about the color) and I noticed the hives. Maybe if I did a gloss instead of full blown indigo I might be able to get away with it.

Was it worth it? Honestly.... yes and no. It definitely darkened my hair in just one 10-15 minute use. I'd be afraid to use this for a full hour or so just because of my reaction to it. But yesssss I do like it! I think I'll stick with henna glosses for the time being. I don't want to chance it with indigo and my reactions. VERY easy to do and I love the shine

Wow, thanks for this feedback. I've been contemplating coloring my hair with Indigo Henna but I've decided to take it slow and do some more research on it. So, is the Indigo like jet-black? If so, I wonder how it would be for covering up gray hair.....that's where I need some coloring the most!

It covers Gray perfectly. The ultimate color will depend on the ratio's you use Henna to Indigo. Less Henna, more darkening.

I also do a 2 Step Process (I have a considerable amount of gray). 1st Henna. Then Indigo. Alot of Ladies mix the two. (1 Step).

I have naturally Dark Brown Hair so I adjust my ratios according. I purchase mine on-line from Mehandi.com I am Relaxed so I purchase the Body Art Quality Henna for Chemically Treated and African American Hair.

It comes out perfectly every single time and gray's are totally covered.

The indigo is a weird green powder and when you add hot water it turns dark green then bluish. (It's the same stuff used to dye blue jeans.) My hair is not a true jet black. It's naturally dark brown with reddish highlights (especially during the summer.)

IDareT'sHair is absolutely right It's AWESOME at covering grays! I did the two step process (first henna, then indigo) I used Jamilla henna and the indigo I bought off of a member here... I can't remember the name of the company but if I do decide to do it again I'll probably buy from only trusted sources (like the ones mentioned, Henna Sooq, the lady I bought henna from on here, etc) I didn't like the smell much but it wasn't horrendous.

I had to take a pic with my shabby phone so it's coming soon. My hair isn't all glammed up so focus on the color lol.

I Wanted to Clarify (mixing the two) You have to mix them in separate containers following the directions of each before adding the two together.

Hennasooq a member here, also sells it. I have not purchased Henna/Indigo from her, but I recently purchased a bottle of Argan Oil from her.

My camera phone is pure unadulterated crap. LOL why else would I have a halo around my head when my bathroom is bone dry? Good times. Anyways. It came out real rich and dark. Not jet black but noticeably darker. Unstyled cottony goodness!
