I have a \"tail\"

I did my very first blow out today to do a light trim because my ends were tangling up so badly due to some of the stringy relaxed hair that was left after my big chop. Anywho I was blowing the back out because that's where most of the tangling was and i noticed that my nape hair surpassed the length of my regular hair considerably. While the rest of my hair is about 3" my nape hair was about 4.5". Now whats really weird is that I let my grandmother shave and edge up my back when I first got my big chop done in November and it was the same length as the rest of my hair which was 1.5". I wonder what made it grow so fast? I havent been doing anything different to it. The only thing that is different between my hair and the nape hair is the textures. I went back to look at my hair pics and I noticed that I was starting to form a "tail" in Dec, but i never noticed it until now. I wonder is this my hair in the first stage of forming a V?

Re: I have a \"tail\"

I have a couple of "tails" in the back near my nape which are significantly longer than the rest of my hair. I asked the same question in a thread a couple of months ago and although there were some interesting theories, I still don't know exactly why this happens. I love my tails though and I'm leaving them be. Ayeshia, it may or may not mean your hair is growing into a "V". It could mean that part of your head is getting a lot of blood flow and nourishment, for some reason.
