I have a hairy

Nape. I have soft dark hairs that grow outside the hairline back there and it tends to look so unkempt. I've tried using clippers to neaten it up a bit, but I end up getting awful hair bumps, I don't know why, so I never did it again. Any tips on how to groom this area?

have you tried getting really close with scissors?
have you slicked it like baby hair?
thats all i can think of cause i clip or trim them

have you went to the barbers to have them edge it up? It only cost me about 3 bucks. I didnt get bumps when they did it, but when I attempted it myself I did. Mines is very hairy, and it doesnt stop at my nape it goes all down my back too /images/graemlins/nono.gif I mean its not thick, but you can see it. Electrolysis will be my best friend once I start making some decent money.

I may have to end up going to Barber. Thanks MsPortugal for the tip, I'll try slicking it down, but my hair tends to resists all attempts to lay down. /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I have the same issue. I don't want to go to a barber so I have learned to deal with it.

Maybe you are getting bumps because of the direction that you use your clippers. If you go to a barber, pay attention to the direction that he uses his clippers and then try it again yourself.
