Last weekend, I took out my boxbraids and wore my Kangol and scarf almost all week

! I have to go somewhere tomorrow and do not want to wear my scarf...so I broke out the electric hot comb and flat iron. I didn't think my hair had any length (I always focused on the shrinkage)...I can't wait until next year June to see my progress!! Grow on!

I'm going to get my hair in cornrows in the afternoon to continue the 'braid & surge challenge...my results are in the 'my hair journey' album!

I'm debating if I want to do the 'big chop' and just go totally natural, or next year just get a relaxer 2 months before my wedding...I'm so confused!

If I do go natural, how will I wear my hair and how will I be able to deal with my thick hair? My hair is not my friend on humid days, so that's something to think about...

I do want to relax my hair next June, but I'm not sure if I should use no lye or lye...I have no idea what I want to do! That's why I'm glad LHCF is here so I can get all my info to make my decision

Take your time before rushing into any decision. You don't want to do something you'll regret. Nice pictures, you have beautiful hair

nfynit I had micros for my wedding and they were soooo beautiful!! The pictures came out wonderfully!! I really loved them for the honeymoon, too!!!
smile.gif
You might want to try that if you don't want to get a relaxer!! PM me and I'll try to scan some pics if you want to see them! You're growing out wonderfully, though!!

Wonderful progress! That's exactly how my hair looks after I take down my braids. You never know how long it is until you do the wash and flatiron. It looks great! You have done a wonderful job. Keep it growing girl!!

You know, Naptrl-I was thinking about wearing some form of braids for my wedding...but I wanted to wear my own hair out instead. This was thought out before my fiance and I planned to wed in the Bahamas!!! Now micros sound like the way to go since I'll be in a hot and humid climate and after the wedding, I don't want to mess my hair up (swimming, sweating and the like). I'm gonna PM u so I can get an idea of how small I'd want the micros to be. Thanks Naptrl~

Thanks DSD! I'm aiming to be just like you, girl!!!!

Your hair is growing in very thick! Hang in there with the transition, you're making some great progress. Braids sound like a great option, less worries for you. Enjoy your wedding and honeymoon!

Thank you! It seems like this is the only way I'm going to take care of my hair properly while it's in braids!

Girl that's a big comb you have (the blue one you were using while pressing your hair)!!
laugh.gif
Anyways, your hair is coming along nicely.

Asummertyme! I looked at your pics and reminded me of how my hair used to be back in '96 (when my hair was healthy)...I'm gonna scan some pics of my hair from back in the day...I really miss my hair-the way it used to be
