I HATE my hair

I don't know how to get over this. My hair is fine. I don't have any issues with it, but I'm so over dcing, shampooing, styling, and trying to find products I like. I just don't have the amount of passion and care that I use to have in regards to my hair.

I used to be so eager to try out a conditioner or a roller set. Now I can't stand combing my hair every day. I put that mess in a bun and go. Everyday I tell my sister I want to cut it all off. I would if I didn't have a fat round head.

It has really been a burden. The only thing that is keeping me from doing something drastic is the fact that I would still have to deal with and style shorter hair. It's easier to bun and ponytail.

Maybe you should get it braided up until this feeling passes. And it WILL pass.

I flatlined when you said your head is too round and fat to cut it all off. I feel the same way about my head. I could NEVER do a BC down to the scalp. Girl, no. :nono:

I agree with Njoy maybe braids for a whike to give yourself a break from daily maintenance. Based on what I see in your siggy you have beautiful hair that I know you worked hard for. This too shall pass my dear

*Looks at your siggy*

Are you relaxed or natural?
If you are natural and decide to cut, whats your hair type?

I'm sure someone will buy.

Happy 4th of July.

How about long layers or a real long bob(lob) instead of cutting all off. That will still keep your length but give a new look

Aint nothing wrong with a bun! Listen, this is just temporary annoyance, we all go through it. Braid it up, or do buns that last you a week so you don't have to do anything daily other than put your scarf on at night (and maybe oil your ends, i dont konw what ur routine is like but u know what i'm sayin)
Take it easy and stop sayin you hate your hair cuz you dont. You love it.
This will pass and you'll start enjoying caring for it again.

Your hair is so beautiful. Buns are great and so easy. I would just keep bunning until you feel like dealing with it again. I wear buns 99% of the time because I am so lazy and the longer my hair gets the better I like my buns.

I understand how you feel. I hated my hair all last year. Unlike you, my hair was acting up. Wearing buns kept me from doing something drastic. No shame in wearing a bun for awhile if you're just not feeling your hair right now.

Can you pinpoint exactly why? To me it sounds like you're bored + tired of a long reggie?

If so, try something new and with zero commitments like this. Maybe get the Komaza analysis to get you caring again, spend some money on the hair by trying something different, a seamless comb or anything that might attract you to the hair again...or simply do a picture post on LHCF on your progress or journey.

If the reggie feels too long it probably is. Don't feel obligated to DC weekly...skip the DC and try a leave-in with hydrolyzed protein (and/or other penetrating ingredients like coconut oil, panthenol, amino acids, etc) and presto. A bun is fine, maybe join a bunning challenge to make it a bit more interesting.

The hair on your sig is gorge! Hopefully you'll see that again soon! :yep:

Thanks ladies. To be honest I'm totally bored with hair all together. My reggie is extra low maintenance. All I do is wash or co wash ever few days, airdry and bun. This has pretty much been my reggie for most of the last two years. Except when I go HAM and start bleaching, lol. Which I can't bleach and color anymore because of my job.

I never wear it straight. Even though I'm relaxed I hate wearing it straight because it is very tangly and I don't know why, but it has been like that since I was a small child even before relaxers. My hair does better with heat and I feel it was much healthier when I used to flat iron biweekly.

I haven't Dc in months, but I am right now. I can tell my hair misses it. Ugh. I'm a fan of braid outs which I do every now and then, but the curls usually only hold up a day if I don't rebraid. Then I do a bun on the old braid out and wash the following day.
