I Hate Deceptive Advertising!

This stuff is on sale now? This looks like an ad from a 1970s Ebony Magazine..:ohwell:

But yeah that model's "hair" is not the business.

I usually can't spot a weave so I can't tell; I would've assumed she had her hair in a ponytail and/or a braid. But what I find funny is there is no before pic and the time-line it took to achieve that? She might just have grown her hair w/o their magic potion over a number of years.

Looks like they brought the photo generic, (dirt cheap too) :perplexed There are stock photos that companies will buy. Thats a shame when they make a claim like that. :nono:

:lachen:

that article was just shameful.

i read inStyle magazine (with anne hathaway on the cover) and this ad for a ridiculously overpriced flat iron said "forget everything you know about heat. not only is it harmless, but it's good for the hair". they were advertising the use of this "miracle cream" that "destroys frizzies on contact" when used in conjunction with the flat iron.

:nono:

The screen on my laptop is very bright. Her "natural" hair looks like it could be a relaxed 4a or b texture and the weave looks like a wet and wavy type (before wetting). I'm guessing this is a partial weave. Looks like they added a few tracks in the back. (I remember doing this in the early 90's :nono:) Plus, I can see the difference in the color.:ohwell:

I'm not sure if its a weave or not, but that is definitely a horrible ad for selling a product. Her hair is busted.

Oh lawd! I need to find that ad. Is the so-called "miracle cream" expensive, too?

That picture has been in the catalog for since at least the mid nineties when I first saw it. I always assumed it was her real hair. Oh well.
I do have to say the power gro shampoo is really good. Can go head to head with CON anyday and the lavender hair lotion did help me with breakage at one point. Unfortunately the petrolatum was too heavy for me.

lol, yes. this looks like one of those ads they place WAY in the back of Essence magazine
OT: you are the one whose s/n i could not remember the other day when we were posting the names of naturals whose fotkis we wanted to stalk! -looks for thread to bump it-

oh back on subject...i remember when i was like 10 and i begged my mom to buy some stuff like that...back of ebony mag, you know, "GROW YOUR HAIR TO YOUR WAIST IN A WEEK" or some crap.

I tried the one of the Power Gro systems about 6 years ago. I wasn't crazy about the shampoo:nono: but I liked the hot oil treatment. I loved "Herbal Lite Moisturizer" but I didn't reorder after I ran out.:ohwell: I may order the Herbal Lite moisturizer again.:yep:

Thats what I thought! It looked as if she had a pony and set it free. Well that's how my hair looks after I release the mane.
