it is *still* straight! I will also put an appropriate post in the Salon forum because the salon that I went to is *HIGHLY* recommended! I had my hair blowdried and flatironed 3 weeks ago today (yes, they are open on Sundays) and it is still straight.
That first week, I went over 2 sections of my hair with my little flatiron, namely my edges and a one-inch piece near the crown. However for the last two weeks or so I have been applying a little bit of sweet almond oil to my hair at night and putting my hair in a loose ponytail near the top of my head and when I take it down in the morning I can just fingercomb it and go. My hair had more bounce this past week than I had the first week and a half! When pressed with a comb or flatironed before my hair NEVER stayed straight any longer than a week, and that was pushing it. I might follow CurleeDST and do this for the winter and wash and go it for the summer. I am loving the versatility of natural hair!
Does anyone know how/why this happens? What results do you other ladies get with sweet almond oil?
*I guess I should take a picture or two sometime soon...*
