You are NOT so far from her though. Both of ya'll have some beautiful looking hair.

Thanks..I will get to where she is one day(hopefully soon).

Does anyone else grease? I just realized my cousin does and she has beautiful hair.

I guess it's another one of those "do what works for you" things...like I relax way too much (according to some) but I have never had a problem.

Go Kitchen! /images/graemlins/weird.gif Go Kitchen! /images/graemlins/weird.gif lol

I agree that both of you have lovely hair! /images/graemlins/up.gif

Pulling out my jar of Blue magic!! /images/graemlins/wave.gif Grease soothes my scalp and is the only thing that gives me longlasting shine!! /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Lulu...you are exactly right. Do what works for you. I tried Affirm lye because of all the raves on this board, but it doesnt not straighten my hair. /images/graemlins/ohwell.gif I'll be back to Soft and Beautiful no lye next touch up time.

I still use grease, but lately I've been using my oil mixture, I can use two types of grease, that promote great growth, Hairobics Hair and Scalp Booster and Glover's Medicated(it will turn you scalp orange, though. I felt left out, when I first got here, most are anti grease, but I know what works for my hair, so I'm still a "GREASE HEAD" and proud of it.

I don't use it on my scalp but, lately I've been using the Isoplus Naturals grease on my hair and its wonderful. I don't use it everyday but, it gives my hair a beautiful shine and it must actually penetrate because it doesn't weigh it down and if I touch my hair its not greasy.

Lulu--I love that quote in your signature line.

So glad to see we're not alone!

And thanks girl...my sig is my goal!

I've recently implemented grease back into my regimen. I don't use it on my scalp but I use it on my hair (mainly focusing on my ends) to keep in moisture after I wet it and also before I curl it. My hair was just too dry, even after deep conditioning and grease did the job.

I've been using Hollywood Beauty's Castor oil. It doesn't have any mineral oil in it, but ya'll are making me miss my jar of Blue Magic!

I use Keracare High Sheen Glossifier on my scalp twice per week. This is a lot lighter than others on the market.

OH MY I'm blushing!!! /images/graemlins/blush.gif

Awwww LuLu, you are too sweet. /images/graemlins/kiss.gif
Your hair is oh so thick and beautiful. We can switch heads anytime. /images/graemlins/grin.gif Your hair grows pretty fast and you're well on your way to your goals.

Yes, As many of you already know, I love grease and love how it makes my scalp feel. The key is to scratch your scalp to lift the debris before you wash. This will help decrease scalp build-up.

Thanks ladies for all of your wonderful comments and much love to my fellow "grease monkeys".

I just started using Nature's Blessing when my hair feels dry and hair sucks this stuff up plus it has a lot of good ingredients. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

I use nature's blessing and hot six oils. But I only use it after I blow dry before I use the curling iron. I don't put it on everyday. But is gives you hair a sheen most mositurizers can't give.

I was hunting Nature's Blessing down like a wild animal looking for raw meat, finally found some, and that stuff had my head itching, like a dog with fleas, I even tried adding peppermint oil to it, it still had me itchin' and scratchin', I put that stuff in the "give it to somebody else pile", I was really turned off by the stuff. /images/graemlins/angry2.gif

Honey .... I love me some hollywood beaty castor oil! /images/graemlins/clap.gif.. I have a dry scalp ...i don't grease my whole head ....I part my hair in four and grease the the parts .. so my hair is not weighed down.

Well thanks to Lulu and the fact that T uses grease I went back to it a few days ago and I gotta tell you my hair is SOOOOO soft and shiny. First I spray with scurl or unbraid spray (which I'm liking a lot just for the fact that it gets my hair soft without making it feel tangled like scurl does) then I apply a good "helping" (lol) of grease. Just like I do it for my ends for the baggie method. Well now I'm doing it for my whole head and my hair has been amazing. I don't even need gel anymore to make the hair lay down, the grease is enough...lol. /images/graemlins/clap.gif

I too have found that if I spritz my edges with water, apply my Liv (grease), and lightly brush and then tie my hair with a scarf for about five minutes, that my edges lay down nicely. Some of my hair's wave pattern even is evident. I barely ever use my gel for this anymore. LONG LIVE GREASE!!!!

I like to use Blue Magic Coconut on my hair concentrating on the ends. It keeps my hair soft and shiny all day. It can't be all that bad for you - remember how thick and healthy your hair was when you were a kid and all your mom used was hair grease?

Well, I pulled out my old jar of Softee Indian Hemp, and applied it to soaking wet, conditioned hair. Then ends look & feel way better. However, I globbed it on the ends(was reading the old vaseline challenge thread). I'm going to use less next time because my hair is so greasy now! But soft, especially after letting it get steamed in the shower.

Thank you for this post! My hair was acting up big time and I put some of my Hollywood Beauty Super Gro with herbs from back in the day and my hair is actually soft again and the ends are looking better. Maybe grease used as much as I used to might not be good but I am definitely gonna start using it again sparingly..thx for bringing it back LuLu!

Look what you guys started. Last week I went to Walgreens and now all the Blue Magic jars are gone. They were there one week and now they are all gone. /images/graemlins/grin.gif
