When I was natural I would wash my hair and condition and let it airdry. This helped my 4B kinks to take shape. When it was about 75% dry I would use a pick and my hand to shape an afro. Even though my hair is 4B it didn't make as good as a fro as I wanted so I never wore it out of the house because I wanted a Jackson 5 fro and I only got a floppy Sideshow Bob fro![]()
Maybe some other experts will chime in. I think the texture of your hair determines what kind of fro you will have. Since my hair is fine this may have led to my results.
Poohbear said:1. wash & condition your hair
2. detangle REALLY GOOD
3. apply leave-in & put your hair into 10-12 plaits or twists
4. airdry COMPLETELY
5. undo each plait or twist one at a time
6. apply a little bit of moisturizer to the section
7. gently pick it out with an afro pic while holding the section at the root
8. once your done with each section, pick/fluff/pat into shape
I just recently did an afro, check out my signature![]()
I think it can depend on what kind of hair you have, but it does for me.foxxymami said:Thanks ladies!
Okay, so more moisture=more shrinkage in a puffy fro?
