I've had microbraids before, and I think they were received well. I am now twisting my hair up for the rest of the year and the winter season. I'm thinking about doing twists until April. I'm kinda nervous about how they look because they're longer than I expected, but she said she had to braid past my ends. I also feel like it highlights my huge forehead :look: but I know you all will be honest with me. Ladies, tell me what you think, do they look alright? Any cute style ideas?

(excuse my puffy eyes and tired face, I have been up for the longest getting them installed )

Those are nice. You can style them just like you would any other braids. I miss being able to wear them. Q

Thanks so much ladies. I think they're a great alternative to microbraids. I loved them, but my hair's gotten to the length where it sticks out past the plait so it looks funny and my ends are exposed. I love how kinkies totally encase my whole hair.

You look cute...and oddly Tyra ish here (just dipped in chocolate). So if Tyra doesn't hide the forehead, you work it! I love this look on you.

Aww thanks LD, but I wish I looked like Tyra! (sans the overdone makeup and blonde lacefront) I really appreciate the love, now I've gotta try to be creative with it. Thanks to all of you, I hope you guys aren't just being nice...

thanks for sharing this link! Your kinky twist looks GREAT! What type of hair did you use?

tia,
tishee

Thanks! I used marley braiding hair. I forgot the brand, but I think it's Janet and some other brand. They were like $5 a bag, I needed 3 or 4. This is the kind of hair http://store.goldenmartbeautysupply.com/twistbraid.html and I got color 2 I think to match my hair.

Ladies, if you get these, make sure the person braiding your hair knows what they're doing and understand that you care for your hair. My braider is an LHCFer (Thank God!) and she braided my edges a bit bigger and instead of just braiding, she slightly began them as a cornrow so they dont weigh my edges down and hang loosely when my new growth comes in. This way, when my edges get old, they wont hang and unsafely cause my hair to twist leading to thinning edges. This is important, so talk to your braider about this. Look for good deals on craigslist in your area also

Your hair looks very nice!!...I've always been scared to try this style...you're making me want to take the leap

I like being nice, but my friends always say I'm bluntly honest. I think you look wonderful, so I'm not just saying it!

thanks lady! I plan on wearing this set for about two months or as long as they look good. depends on my maintenance. If theyre decent enough to wear longer, I'll get the front redone.

I paid 125 for mine, it was the best deal i could get them, they took 7 hours to install and you have to braid all the way to the end, so i understand the price. Everyone else was charging 180+. They said they START at 180 and wanted to charge a 'long hair fee" and a 'natural hair fee" so I was looking at well over 200 dollars and that gets a hell to the naw from me.
