I got braids!

I'm curious. I am also thinking about braids. My timeline is to start about Sept 1. I have heard comments that 2 mos is a good time frame to keep the braids in. Can I take them out, deep condition, and then put them right back in, or should I allow my hair to "rest"? I am interested in allowing the braids to stay for at least a year or two to try to acheive the maximum growth.

Advice anyone?

yes you are supposed to allow your hair a break. give it AT LEAST two weeks to rest. a month or two would be better. make sure in the "resting" phase you do LOTS of deep treatments and make sure to baby the hair. get a little trim for your ends. and put the braids back in...
