...the laziness has set in.

well, more like the exhaustion. i'm working my butt off and i really have no time to wash, DC, detangle, roller set, and dry under a dryer. i can hardly bother to pick out my clothes in the morning. how can i deal with my hair?

lately, i've been washing, conditioning (I DC on the weekend...), sticking my hair in a turbie towel for like 20 minutes, adding some leave in, fluffing it in a bun and going to work! (hey, at least i'm not blow drying, right?)

this unusual behavior has now sunken into my weekends.

*sigh*

so i'm stuck like this for a while. i need tips on managing a good wash n go. i have these issues:

- my hair frizzes when it dries, even when i put in moisturizer. (my hair is relaxed/texlaxed, perhaps)

- i detangle as best as i can in the shower with my shower comb and after... but my roots always feel knotty. maybe it's b/c i have new growth. but it's always a mess where i secure my bun. i don't want to rip my hair out...

i'm trying to wash every 2 days if i am going to let it air dry. i'm used to washing every 5-7 days as a roller setter....

any ladies who wash n go have any good tips for me? my hair is of fine-ish density but my individual strands are medium.... not fine and not thick.

thanks in advance! :yep:

Have u tried tying ur hair down while it dries. This works wonders for me. I just slip it into a loose bun with no scrunchies or pins and tie it down to make it lay right. In the morning I take off head tie and just make a neat bun using the scrunchie and the pins.

I like sylver 2's method. I refer her washing video to transitioning friends and they say it's a life saver. Do you wash in sections?

Have you tried washing nightly? That way it will be mostly dry in the morning. You can also braid it at night and in the morning where a braid out bun.

Ok, so this isn't truly wash n go, but it is very simple. It takes me about 10 minutes at night, and it's fluff n go in the morning!

I have 3a/b/c hair that is texlaxed in some areas and that I am transitioning to natural. I wear my hair curly or wavy. This method keeps it smooth- last time I tried airdrying without this, my hair was a puffball! It's basically a braid-out:

After I wash and condition, I do a final cool rinse and don't comb before smoothing in some leave-in and putting my hair in 2, 3 or 4 (sides, bottom back, crown) braids to airdry. I do this at night, but I guess if you wanted to do it before work the braids could be pinned up in the back with a flower or feather comb or something until the hair dries.

At night, I lightly finger-detangle (for curly style) or comb through (wavy), spray lightly with water & with a few drops of EO (I'm experimenting w/ glycerin in this too), smooth in some leave-in esp. on dry areas, braid.

Tips:

- Keep the braids very smooth- I sort of glide my hands as I braid, smoothing each section every time before wrapping it into the braid
- I discovered I didn't need elastics for the bottoms- my hair just stays in the braid
- Be mindful of where you start the braid on your head. This will affect the ultimate style.
- Don't separate a curl into different braid sections- that causes frizz.
