so i'm in whole foods in union square looking for an herbal alternative to porosity control ... no such luck, but i couldn't help but try out some new lotions & conditioners since i was there anyways
right.
well after perusing the shelves longer than i needed to and trying just about every lotion tester they had, i moved down to the conditioners and i found my new fix:
nzinga - hairlove - shea & avocado hair lotion
http://www.sheago.com/home.html
y'all know i'm into into ingredients, so i knew i had to pick this up when i read them.
ingredients: love & integrity, deionized water, seaweed complex, shea butter, pro-moisture-plus complex with avocado, panthenol, herbal-base complex, herbal extract complex and natural oils.
when i got home, the ny sun had done its job on my hair (it's still in braids, but i keep the nape out because it tangles with a breeze). so instead of turning to my old reliables, i decided to give this a try and see how it would hold up. i sprayed my moisturising spray & then applied nzinga as a leave-in. i could tell just from rubbing it between my palms that it was a contender
... i've come to recognize the feel of a good slippy conditioner. so i applied it and voila perfectly slippy hair. then i gave it the comb through test. i have mad naps so i have to comb in sections, even with my wide tooth
but the nzinga allowed me to slide through my hair with minimal effort (pausing of course to finger detangle two mad knots i found.) but overall it is a definite keeper!!! yeah!
(i also picked up suki - clean balance conditioner - with horsetail, yerba, lavendar & rosemary - but it didn't seem to do anything for my hair. so the juries still out on that one.)
