A male co-worker I'm cool with asked me when was I going to 'do my hair?' today.

My hair is pinned up in twists that have been washed once so the fuzzies are THERE. He has about 3 more weeks of looking at them too.

It gave me the opportunity to see whether or not I'd be 'fazed' by that opinion. Guess what? Not in the least bit. I LOVE my fuzzies. This confirmed to me how much I love and enjoy my journey....
 
:lol: I hear you. I love my halo/fuzzies!! And - looking around - almost EVERYONE who doesn't have a buzzcut - has a halo if their hair isn't glued to their head with grease and hairspray. :ohwell:
 
I must admit, I don't mind the early fuzzies but that full on halo.
I'm not to fond of that on me. Neither is DH!:spinning: But Good for you.

You know I wanna see a picture...why you teasin'?
 
My African Male manager always comes to me and says something like "wow, how often are you going to change your hair" or "Wow, are you trying to dread it" or something stupid like that. I don't know if he is trying to be negative, but his comments are unwarranted. They don't phase me anymore...maybe if this was last year when I felt like me made me feel so sensitive about my appearance, but not now. He doesn't bother me anymore.

BTW I just had my hair in a twist out and it is pretty short. He may make the comment about me changing it so often bc you know our styles have to evolve from braids to weaves to naturals to curly looks to twist outs!

I turned to him and said "yep, I plan on changing it daily" and "wow your shirt looks pretty tight...are you full?" :grin:

I know i'm wrong but he makes it seem as though the floor is open for appearance discussions, so hey why not!?

:lachen: just dont lose your job...but I know you want because he'll have a law suit on his hands...You already got a case..he is obsessed with you and your hair. always asking questions, numerous personal questions that you dont feel like answering--now that is harrassment too. Then there's discrimination because he isn't all up in other men's faces asking the men about their hair... We'll have to figure out a way to add pain & suffering, if possible, lol.

To OP, he needs to let you Do You. cool or not--your frizzy hair aint none of his bizness. I would've told him "uum, :look: when i get ready."
 
I'm happy for this thread b/c i'm about to give up my wigs and were MY hair :yep:. I'm a little nervous to say the least :perplexed. I don’t want to get stuck in a corporate state of mind, and wear my hair w/ confidence
 
Wow, congrats! Speaking from experience, it really does take GUTS to flip the finger in the mind, when someone says something that does fall in line with what you are doing. Your confidence has just escalated. Well, done!:yep:
