Hola Ladies,
As you see I swallowed my fear of cutting my hair off and finally did the big chop. To be honest I love it. I think it looks so cute. But i still have hopes of growing in long healthy hair (the intent of the hair cut in the first place), Anywho, I'm not so sure how to take care of short natural hair. This is my regime:

-Deep Condition once a week
-I'm trying to wait out washing my hair to just washing it once a week but I dance and work out about 4 times a week, so I don't think once a week is going to cut it. Any comments on that?
-Oil with either, sweet almond oil, coconut oil, mango butter mixture
-Moisturize with water and conditioner mix
-Protein treatment once a month

Any suggestions are STRONGLY advised. LOL. But I would truly appreciate any suggestions for how to take care of really short 4a hair (smile)

Thank you all for your comments and support.

Congratulations! The BC looks great on you. I am transitioning myself - I am four months post. I will leave the advice to the experienced ladies, but cassia/henna has been great for me - as far as detangling, etc. Also, moisture, moisture, moisture.

Your hair cut looks great! Congratulations!

If I were you- at that length, I would co-wash every day. Especially with dancing/working-out all the time... To me that's one of the great things of fresh BCs- it's short enough that you can wash/co-wash every day w/o a hassle or wondering how long it will take to dry.

Welcome!

I agree with JinaRicci. You can cowash it everyday with no problem. Natural hair doesn't dry out as fast as relaxed. As long as you moisturize it well and detangle carefully, you can co- wash once a day with no problem.

Thank you so much for your kind words! I truly appreciate it. It seems all suggest co-washing, which is what I think I'm going to follow through on. I have heard about henna, but nave no clue about it's benefits. But thanks again lovelies for your support and suggestions :)

+3
I'm agreeing with the other two ladies. Buy a bottle of Suave coconut conditioner and co-wash every day or at least whenever you feel your hair needs it. Sounds like the rest of your regimen is just what you need.

Oh and congratulations on your BC!! :drunk:
