Aaaw, lol ,, i have a theory..... i havent seen any of ur threads but you may be asking questions that have been asked and answered 20000000 times lol.... try the search feature and see if you can find your topic,,,, just a possiblity.. anyone else..?

It may just because people were not interested in the topic. If you want, feel free to pm me and I will help in anyway I can. Take care Q

thanks guys. well i just posted a thread about my shedding problem mayb u cud answer it on here?

iv been shedding a little more than usual any1 got any ideas y? and any solutions?

PLZ RPLY!

I think it's because the topic has already been discussed. Always do a search first. I never start threads anymore, the search feature works for me.

well the one you posted about 20 mins ago will prolly get responses soon.

your other one about split ends was answered in the the 7 or so responses it got so others felt there was no need to post.

and the other one was just that people probably didnt know anything about the izzuseus (however you spell that) hair volumizer, which ='s few or no responses.

not to worry! its not because you're new. the ladies here are always willing to help out :)

I hardly ever start threads either. Yeah, 99% of the time, the search feature will get you the answer you're seeking...especially if it is hair-related.

Unless it is a super interesting topic, something novel or something SCANDALOUS, then most folks will pass. However, there is an exception to this rule, some popular members can post about almost anything, and get mad traffic...but I guess their seniority has earned them that loyalty. If it is something that I need to know asap, I PM one or two people who I feel may be able to answer my question.

Yeah, IA with the other ladies. You probably ask questions that have been asked 2 billion times, and can be searched. You also need to have a title that will catch people's attention. Or sometimes folks just don't know the answer.

In your shedding thread, I was gonna post to use garlic shampo and conditioner, but someone had already suggested it so I just left it alone.

Next time, use the search feature first. If you still can't find the answer to your question, use a catchy title. If no one answers, bump it up a few times.

Same here. I've found answers to my questions by using the Advanced Search feature.

Yes, this helps. :yep:

That is so true. I dont think its a newbie thing i think its a popularity thing. Because i am not a newbie i joined in December 06 but i only have 545 posts. So that probably a factor that contributes to the lack of responses in my threads. But like it has already mentioned it could have been discussed before but i dont think i start threads that have been asked 50-11 times before. But as long as somebody responds thats all that matters.

So true:yep:

I totally agree with the above...also sometimes if you put up a poll you are more likely to get a lot more responses....I put up one about breakage and I got a ton of responses via a poll. I'm pretty new too and I noticed that not very many people responded to my posts too and I figured it was just that the topic had been done already so I started searching and that's worked out pretty well. Generally when I see a topic that has already been posted and I reply...I will put the links to a similar question in my reply.....I can't really say anything about shedding b/c I don't have much experience with this but I know that there have been lots of posts on it...definitely try searching :yep:

the 'advanced search' is really good as well. it finds details that the general search doesn't. u can find threads/key words by thread or post only. it's a good feature!

Hon, I didn't see your threads but I don't think it's because you are new. Heck, I joined a couple of years ago and although I have racked up a few posts since then:grin: ,I started a thread about shedding last month (with a little more specific information that I wanted to know about it). Girl I didn't hear anything in that thread but crickets. A few nice people (that are ALWAYS very helpful) came in to give advice.

In some cases (as is the case with me a lot of times), it's not something that I have experienced so I can't speak much on it, so I don't post. (but I know more than a handful of people on here had experience with shedding). And most other times, it's probably what most other members said as well - that it's a topic that has been discussed heavily already.

HTH!

I took a look at your posts and you have replies. :yep:
I came across a few I answered as well.
Don't worry.
I think that the mail notification system is down right now also.
I'm not getting notifications, so maybe you aren't and that's why you don't know people are answering you.
Good luck.

It's not cause you're new... I get crickets in my threads all the time. :ohwell:
:welcome:

I agree.:yep: Especially a topic thats asks about shedding. I think there's a sticky on it. Sometimes the wrong products can make my hair shed. If my hair is dirty it'll shed, and if Im due for a touchup, etc. So there are a lotta factors to take into consideration when it comes to shedding. Dont take it personal if you dont get a lotta responses, tho.:wink2:

Welcome Newbie!!

I think it depends on what time of day you post too...if its too early, no one sees it and it gets bumped way down. Some of my threads get the cricket chirps too :look:.

Thats riggggght! My goodness its nothing relatively new discussed around these parts anyways.

Awwwww. Don't feel bad...I think it's the people with gorgeous hair down to their butts that get the most responses. I think it's sort of peceived as they've 'proven' themselves, and their hair shows that they must know what they're doing. Also, I think it's like shunta said...if the topic has been talked about before ad nauseam, then people are less likely to respond to it. I

If you have a question where you really need some serious help from the LHCF ladies, just say that in your post. We're a sympathetic bunch around here - hate to see a sista in dire distress over her hair!
