I dislike protective styling but have a new respect for it

I was feeling sorta like 'whats the point of growing the hair longer if ya gotta cover it and never wear it down, yada, yada'

today I took off my wool coat and went to hang it up to find 5 or 6 strands from my nape stuck onto the collar of my coat...and then I remembered driving earlier and feeling something snap in my hair but kinda paid it no attention...

geesh... guess I need to wear a scarf 24/7 until my hair is long enough for an updo

hehe, I know where you're coming from... nobody really likes protective styling (all the time), but its one of those necessary evils that we do to maintain healthy hair :yep: Like everything else, I do mine in moderation!

:look: I know I'm not the only one who likes protective styles - I think (personally) that you can be much more creative and expressive with protective styles - when you are wearing your hair out - that's the style. It might have a curl, it might have a cut, but hair hanging around your face - that's the style.

Protective styling/updo's on the other hand - there are a LOT more ways to wear your hair up than there is to wear it down. And yeah, they might be variations on the same theme - but 12 different pairs of shoes are variations on the same theme too - and having a different pair of shoes on every day of the week..... well, it doesn't seem 'dull' to me.
