I've been inspired by all of you hair godesses to really protective style my hair.

I just did a conditioner wash. Oiled my hair with an essential fatty acid oil by nexxus. Then pulled my short layerd hair into a low semi-bun with hair tucked into scruchie.

This is a big deal for me, because I'm a I-need-my-rollers-setting lotion-pins-and overhead dryer-girl in order to even think about washing my hair.

I just decided to give this way of washing a try since you ladies all rave about how good it is for your hair. It actually looks kind of nice even though I have this teeny bun with a scruchie in the back of my head. It's sleek and shiny.

I'll let you know how it comes out when it dries by tomorrow morning.

Once again you ladies are wonderful and are my inspiration

The hair is completely straight except for the ends because the were tucked under and kind of squished up.

Tonight I'm going to wrap it to see if I can get the ends to be straight. If this works well then

I'm going to throw a party!!! Cause that would mean no more rollersets for me or at least I won't have to do as many.

The other benefit that I experienced is very little hair came out after my conditioner wash and almost nothing came out this morning when I combed throught it. This is wonderful because when I have to rollerset my hair I'm manipulating and combing it too much.

The other benefit is that I can feel the moisture and not a greasy moisture either it just feels like the hair is moist and healthy inside.

I'm actually thinking about trying this in combination with "sealing my ends" which is another moisture trick I wan to try.

Well anyway thanks again ladies, y'all are the best!!!

Ditto!

An Update:

Tonight I wrapped my hair after putting some perfect for perms through on the crushed up ends to kind of flatten them out. (Unfortunately, after combing through my hair I realized that the hair dresser underprocessed the middle back of my head

, but it's nothing I can't deal with

)

Then I wrapped my hair with a large tooth comb, still shedding very little hair, and almost no ends. Then smoothed with a boars bristle brush. (BTW: Are boars bristle brushes okay for relaxed hair

). Then tied on my silk scarf.

Hopefully the ends will straighten out over night

I'll let you know how it comes out tomorrow.

Thanks again for the encouragement ladies.

I'm

because this morning when I took down my wrap my ends were pretty straight! I'm excited because I achieved straight hair without the help of ANY heat, not even my hooded dryer! This is a whole new world for me!

Congrats! I use that method most of the time and my hair stays so hydrated and soft. I never tried wrapping it afterwards. Maybe I will try that soon. But Congrats again!

BTW.. how do you "seal your ends"?

Good for you. I just did my first "no poo" an hour ago. I plan on doing one "no poo" and one regular wash a week until June. Then I will try to do a daily wash or rinse. We're onto something good. I just know it.
