I cornrowed my hair last night to give it a break....trying to do the low manipulation thingy...I'll just be applying my sulfur 8 nightly and massaging...occasional baggy overnight. I just conwashed the day before and did the ponytail rollerset. air-dried with Proclaim glossing polish and Elasta QP foam....the less product the better.:yep: sorry the pics aren't too clear...I'm trying to recoup my hair from my bad experience at to Dom salon.

wish i could do that, my grew the most and fastest when i wore cornrows, i applied mtg to my scalp every nite and moisture to my braids, gl

Well, it was my first time there, last time I've even been to a salon was like 3 years ago. The lady that washed my hair was so rough, she used her nails.
the lady that did the rollerset, was ripping my hair out with a fine-toothed comb from root to tip! I was saying "ow" the whole time. then when they blew out the roots, the lady said I needed a trim which I so regret:wallbash: I figured since they had already ripped out so much of my hair already what difference would it make. my hair blown out I know for a fact was midback. I didn't even want to see it before she cut it, operative word it cut...alot!!! my hair came out looking great but I'll never go back. they were so rough and aggressive. I have so much breakage in the front and back and middle. my hair is now apl. my hair feels so short now. I'll stick to doing my hair myself treating it like silk and with tlc. like I said it came out lovely but I regret going. I need someone that's more gentle. my husband was so shocked when I got home, :crying3: at how short it looked. I was really bummed out, still am. but I'm trying to get my length back. this forum has helped me out tremendously

I think that help me get the length alot, IDA with you. I thought I was imagining things but my hair did grow fastest that way too. especially when I would do an overnight whole head baggy. I bought some mtg as well, but a wound up putting in my sulfur 8...just seems to me that I get more results with the sulfur 8, I'm thinking maybe it's the menthol because it makes my scalp tingle. maybe I should try some peppermint oil with the mtg:ohwell: but lhcf says it's better straight up. :lachen:

Does anyone know a link or can tell me how to cornrow?? I would love to do this to also give my hair a break, but I don't know how! :nono:

this is more of a diagram http://cornrows.co.uk/howto/howtobraidcornrowsx.html

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epQulsMGnmE ...towards the end when she is doing the back you can kind of see how to grasp and continue the braid...I'll see if I can find any other info for you. learning to cornrow your own hair is worth its weight in gold though:lachen:

I corn-rowed mine for the same reason on Tuesday. I just need a little break from the manipulation plus I'm stretching my relaxer and it's so hard to take care of it when it's 12 weeks post. I am using my MN mix and Surge Plus 14 hair revitalizer on my scalp and bbgrowth lotion on my hair as a moisturizer and sealing with my special blend of oils.

Uhmm...can I just h8 a li'l? How dare your cornrow tails extend beyond where my extension braids reach? The nerve!

Love the hair! H8 you.

J/K

Cornrowing wears me out more than doing single extension, and I mean cornrowing w/o extensions. How long did it take you? (If you've answered this already, never mind me. I'll read the whole thread later.)

it was at least an hour, but that included applying my sulfur8, scalp massaging, parting. I applied Profectiv Megagrowth as I was doing each braid, literally strand by strand. tedious, but worth it.:yep:
