Just when I'd promised myself to not buy ANY NEW PRODUCTS until the end of the year, Aveda comes up with a damage system w/ natural protein you can use everyday!

it's called damage remedy and contains quinoa protein. the 3-product system cost me $79.18 w/ tax and included a towel wrap. MORE THAN I WANTED TO SPEND!
will use it tonight after work and post my opinion.

here's aveda's info:

Whew...expensive like Phyto!! Let us know how it works out...I hear Aveda makes fabulous products. I'm glad I'm on a paraben/petrochemical diet, otherwise I might be placing an order, LOL!!!

I saw this the other day and I want it too! I can't afford it right now, but I put it on my "to buy" list.

LOL, just what I was thinking....but let us know if it works!

Aveda's cool and these products look good, but check this out:

One of the conditioners is $24 for 6.7 oz. and $84 for a liter :(
The other conditioner is $26 for 4.2 oz and $68 for 16 oz. :(

For that price, Jesus should be showing up at my door with the products, shampooing, and applying the treatments too!

:lachen: :lachen:

(I agree...even though I used to shell out $21.00 on the regular for the Deep Penetrating Hair Revitalizer :sekret: now I put Aveda items on my brithday and Christmas lists so OTHER people can buy them for me hehehe)

I have the shampoo, but I haven't used it yet. I got it a month ago. Maybe I will try it, even through I am supposed to be sticking with one shampoo and conditioner. :sekret: My friend gave it to me since she works for Aveda. When she told me how much the market price was I thought

For Queenie:
Does the shampoo has SLS or ALS in it? ANY sulfates at all? Just curious!

Thanks!

Let me check tonight. I know it doesn't have SLS.

used the aveda damage remedy restructuring shampoo & conditioner last nite and i was impressed. my hair felt moisturized and strong! on the 5th shampoo you use the intense restructuring treatment.
again, here's the link: http://aveda.com/whatsnew/whatsnew.tmpl

i let my hair airdry while i slept so i don't really know the full effects of how it feels after drying and styling. even though i'm 3 weeks post-relaxer i got some kinky stuff.
really wanted 2 try this b/c i use heat EVERYDAY and have some of the most coarse hair you can ever imagine.

so i give this a thumbs up. plan to use it the whole month of october and see the total results. yes, it's expensive but i'm at a loss for ways to have healthy hair with working out and having to be on-camera everyday!

You must have just begun either wearing your hair natural, or begun a quest to grow long hair.

I went through the same thing... it'll wear off. But in the meantime and in between time, just give in

no, i just have issues b/c i'm on tv everyday, trying 2 work out regularly, and keep some hair on my head. i wash my hair a lot and use heat everyday. so i need all the help i can get to prevent damage. i'd love to go natural, but i don't think my J-O-B is ready for that!

I Know !! What is wrong with AVEDA?  Their prices keep going up and with each new product they bring out it is waaay more expensive than anything else in the line. I loooove AVEDA but I am sooo glad that my hair only craves for 2 of their products. I am trying hard to find good subsitutes/replacements for those 2 products constantly. I know the AVEDA Institute of HairCare has got to be a very expensive cosmetology school.

So how do you wear your hair?

Are you constantly buying products to achieve a certain look, but you haven't stumbled upon the right ones?

One thing.I have a couple of Aveda products. They are expensive, but they last a LONG time. I still have half a bottle of shamppoo (Brilliant) that I bought a year ago.

Trust me, everything gets Old! You'll eventually get tired of spending/wasting money on all these products...I did! You'll end up finding things you really like, and won't have the need to "keep buying stuff."

No sulfates. It has sodium methyl cocomide? taurate.

Really? That makes me feel better. I was beginning to think the product junkies (self included) need to start a no new products challenge. Since joining LHCF I've brought Kenra's poo, conditioner, damaged hair conditioner, IC leave-in, Nexxus conditioner, MTG, Lemon essential oil, Jojoba oil, carrot oil creme, biolustre and caruso hairsetters. It's out of control!

i'm constantly buying new products to offer my hair some protecting.
my hair is just above shoulder length, highlights in the front, bang, flipped in the back.
how can i post a picture here that's not on the web?
i can give you a better idea that way.

I tried the shampoo this weekend and I really liked it. :yep: I also have some samples of the conditioner. I haven't tried it yet, but will give a review when I do.

I tried the shampoo and the intensive damage conditioner last night. They worked really well and my hair came out VERY soft. My hair was stronger too. :yep:

Working well for me so far this month!
But after I'm done using these *expensive* products, I'm going back to my CON & Aphogee Reconstructor.
Then I'll decide what's best. But for now, I'm sticking w/ this new Aveda system.

I went to the Aveda boutique in MTL, and it seems pretty good. I used to use their Curressence Deep Conditioner, and it was good, however it weighed my hair down (espacially using it with the Sap Moss shamp & Cond ) The girl from Aveda told me that Damage Remedy is the improved version of Curressence, and it controls the moisture and protein it adds in the hair (great:D ). They're having an Aveda V.I.P. party next month and the guests receive a gift card valued at 20% of the total purchase. I'm waiting 'til that day to buy the line.

Ask your nearest Aveda boutique if their having a christmas V.I.P. party... never know, it might be worth it for your wallets, and future hair care regimen!! ;)
