I bought a Solia, now what?

Hola Ladies,

Folica sent my flat iron out on Thurs. and I got it on Monday. I flat ironed a small section of my nape and I wasn't impressed. I have a lot of product in my hair so I am attributing my lackluster results to that. So now I come to you for advice.

Please answer the following:

What state is your hair in before you flat iron (blow-dried, air-dried, rollerset etc.)?
What do use for a hair protectant? When do you apply your hair protectant? Before you hair is dry or after?
How often do you flat iron?

Bonus question for Solia owners: Which temperature do you use? I tried 375 and I think that was to high.

What do use for a hair protectant? When do you apply your hair protectant? Before you hair is dry or after? - I use Redken Heat Glide or IC Heat Protector Straightening Serum. I apply my heat protectant to my hair when it is wet before I blow-dry it and I apply a little bit more on each section before I flatiron it.

How often do you flat iron? - That varies with me but I will say that I do not straighten my hair no more than 5 times in a year.

Its a moisturizing conditioner called C-Pak from Mastercuts. It is really good too! It makes my hair extremely soft and shiny. I use it as a deep conditioner. I'm gonna start a post about it soon.

I have a sedu. it's very similar to the Solia.

What state is your hair in before you flat iron (blow-dried, air-dried, rollerset etc.)?
i get the best, silkiest, results when i use a round brush and blowdry my hair section by section before i flatiron. i also get good results with airdried hair. check out my album for the results.

What do use for a hair protectant? When do you apply your hair protectant? Before you hair is dry or after?
I use a heat protectant spray before i blowdry and creme press on each section of hair before i flatiron my dry hair. you don't need heat protectant after flatironing cause what's the point?

How often do you flat iron?
Once a week. if i'm in the mood twice a week but always after a fresh shampoo and deep conditioning.

I sit under the dryer, but I don't rollerset.

I use either the Fantasia IC in the pink bottle or the Generic Silk Therapy. I apply it after my hair is completely dry.

How often do you flat iron?
After I wash/DC. Once or twice a week.

I put it in between 300 and 370.

before my hair is dry (use NTM Serum on ends before flat ironing)

Every 2 weeks

What do use for a hair protectant? Proclaim Glossing Polish (for now, I have several others, but this is the one I've been using the most lately) and Kenra Thermal Styling Spray to hold off on reversion (I'm transitioning)

When do you apply your hair protectant? Before you hair is dry or after? Usually after, but sometimes I apply before rollersetting.

How often do you flat iron? Maybe 2x a month

Bonus question for Solia owners: Which temperature do you use? I can use anywhere between 300-375
