I thought the BBD stretch was working, but its not. My hair is still breaking, a little more than it should be i believe. Its nothing serious, but it just bugs me. I dont know how to stop it.

any suggestions?

I am so sorry for you. Don't cry, have you tried any protein treatments that are on the milder side or have you been using too much heat. At this point, it may be best to stay completely away from heat styling. What kind of shampoos and conditioners do you use? I have used Motions CPR Conditioner and it seems to work for me. Sometimes it is not just what you are doing or putting on your hair, it could also be stress.

I would suggest finding a healthy hair stylist in your area and getting a strong protein treatment in the salon. When I had breakage a few years ago that was the only thing that stopped it. My stylist used a liquid protein treatment which was activated by heat under a hooded dryer followed by a moisturizing conditioner and the breakage vanished. I'll have to ask her which protein conditioner she used.

How exactly are you using the stretch? What is your regimen?
im using stretch everyday rub it through my hair and brush it. than put it up in a ponytail.

my regimen is i use mtg oil mix (with essential oils) put that on my scalp and massage...i wash every week with Mane N tail shampoo...and I use Proclaim cholestrol as a conditioner....

I dont use heat much i used it today to straighten my new growth...it reverted right back so that was a waste of time and effort:lol:

i used mango butter as a moisturizer along with castor oil on my ends and my new grwoth....

thats about it...

i havent used my aphogee cause i left it at home..along with my hooded dryer.....

Well, maybe you should stop using each of those products for a minute to see if any of the breakage disappears. For instance, maybe replacing the shampoo with a different one, but continue using the conditioner that you use to see if that could be the problem. I have used the Proclaim cholesterol conditioner and I hated it. It did not rinse out of my thick 3c/4a hair that well and I don't think it did anything as far as conditioning anyway. I had residue that I had to wash out to get rid of instead of it just rinsing out. I won't be buying that one anymore.

I think im going to go ahead and buy some more elucence...i loved it, just ran out and been lazy...

Is the main-n-tail shampoo a moisturizing poo? Maybe the conditioner needs to be changed to a more moisturizing one, like the elucence you said you ran out of.

How long have you been using the stretch? I found with my hair, that while the stretch stopped the breakage it did not provide enough moisture, so I ordered the Keala Oil and its been gravy ever since.

I have been using it for about a 2 weeks....i might have to get the keala oil...i dont remember where i ordered the stretch from....i think they might sell it too...i have to search again.

the conditioner might be the problem, it detangles my hair good, but it might not be moisturizing enough....

I use BBD and it seems to be working fine, but it sounds like you are using to many products with protein....keeping it simple might work better for you...

Sorry to hear that your going thru all that D-shy. I was reading the response of the other ladies and I agree with what they said, I also think that maybe you should be careful of brushing your hair so much, that could be exxagerating the breakage issue.

THROW THAT BRUSH AWAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I actually don't like BBD stretch as a moisturizer either...

I recently tried it as a deep conditioner and it was good. I think that's what it was orginally for anyway. Anyways once I use it up I won't repurchase.

I'm glad I bought it tho', hopefully the PJ in me can die...

deep condtion with nexxus humectress heat, @ least 30mins

worked when nothing else would ;)

Sorry this happened to, it shall pass

My hair is fine now, yours will be too

I also use it mostly as a deep conditioner and maybe 2-3 times a week on dry hair. I find that it works better for me this way. Also, you might be overdoing it on the protein (I consider the Stretch more of a mild protein and not that much of a moisturizer).

Also, did you try mixing it with an oil before you apply it??

but its a denman brush ....lol:(

Girl, Dont let me come and find you !! Lol.

Seriously before I found REAL hair care, I used to swear that my brush was helping. Its makes it worst. Just imagine or those little bristles tugging on your hair in that delicate state, compared to a wide tooth comb!!
You feel me, at least stop brushing until you stop the breakage

Do a Nexxus Hum, with your fav oils and deep for 30mins under a hooded dryer, I swear by this method, Maybe its just a moisture jump your hair needs

Good Luck

i agree with everyone on getting rid of the brush and doing a deep conditioning treatment with humectress. like they said, humectress helps if nothing else does

I'm co-signing with the others... I think you've got too much protein going on. Does your hair feel soft or hard after it's all done? Do you find that even though you add moisturizer, it sucks it up? Go easy on the brushing too! Just use it for smoothing the top hairs.

I agree with what everyone else has been saying. But I wouldn't put the stretch creme away just yet because haven't you been sick with the flu? If so, I am sure you were taking a lot of medicine. That medicine could have something to do with you hair shedding!

Hey D-Shy:wave:

Ok girl...vikki is here to help you...hehe

If I were in your position I would definantly put that brush to the side when using the BBD Stretch. The product says to use heat with it right? So what you should do is put the BBD on wherever you want in your hair in sections, rub gently, and let the blowdryer blow on it for like 12 seconds on each section so that it could melt into your hair.

Next since it is a type of protein...maybe you should use it other day all over. At least once a week do a deep conditioning treatment with heat for at 30 min to an hour.;) This should really help...oh yea since your using MTG how oftem do you Co wash your tresses??
