Thanks to the cloudy, drizzly, humid weather today, yesterday's soft, silky rollerset now looks like a puff ball!!

What a waste!!

Now I have to weigh it down with moisturizers just to get it to look halfway decent for tomorrow... Now I remember why I stopped rollersetting from June-September last year!! I think that was my last rollerset until the Fall, ladies!!

Girl I FEEL you.

I did mine yesterday too and needless to say I was trying out Kenra CMC today....

I was wondering if this was why I've been hating my hair and questioning it's inability to hold a curl. That lack of ability to hold curl and kee a style is one of the reasons I want a cut.

Maybe humidity is why my hair looks so dreadful and shapeless and frizzy and icky lately.

Sorry Lindy! You're not the only one...while humidity isn't my problem (I don't know what is) but my hair looked like crap today!

I feel you. That's why I'm doing wash n go all summer. Once the humidity hits, my hair does it's own puffy thing, too.

Your twistouts and braidouts look wonderful, Lindy. I can't wait until my hair is long enough to wear those like yours.

You got to enjoy the gorgeous rollerset for a couple of days. Will it straight out if you wrap it down tonight?

Lindy I feel you my hair was so sleek and had so much bounce yesterday and now it's just a big poof ball. I think that was my last attempt at having the straigh sleek look for the entire summer. My mind is even more made up now that I am going to cut my hair because I simply can't deal with the heat and humidity and having my hair as long as it is.

Thanks Tai... I'm not sure yet what I'm gonna do with it tonight. I'm about to go slap in some Profectiv BreakFree and see what it looks like after that. Then I'll either put a few sponge rollers in (on a high ponytail) or maybe I'll wrap it for a change, like you suggested.

Awww poor thing. I know what you're going thru. I got my hair done on Saturday but judging how it's looking today you could never tell!

Girl, I don't blame you. I have done some bantu sets with a head band to hold it back and that's it. I tried doing a blow out, but it puffed before I left home.

Humidity is not really my problem, but breakfree keeps my hair from getting bigger. Maybe the wrap will do you justice. It might help get rid of the bulk a lil bit: )

Yes... I decided to wrap it.

I put in some Breakfree and some Semi di Lino serum on top. Tomorrow is supposed to be humid and rainy again though...

I FEEL your pain Lindy, its been raining here in p-cola non stop and I cant wear my fro right cause it makes it shrink, or if I use gel to get little curls, it wont curl right!

I hear ya.....Natural elements can take a toll on our tresses as well ......I am so happy that I began wearing headwraps....I no longer have to worry about the weather affecting the condition of my hair....

I feel you. Got my touchup yesterday at 9 weeks (yay!) and hair was bouncing and flowing. Met my BF for dinner afterwards and made the mistake of sitting outside instead of in, well 2 hours later, my gorgeous do was a pouf! Didn't look aweful because got a nice trim that gave hair some shape so the pouf was still rocking; however, not bounce and flow. Anywho, when I got home, I used a wide tooth comb to put hair into 8 large magnetic rollers (didn't use anything just combed and smoothed hair around each roller) and did other stuff around the house, about 1 hour later, my bounce and flow was back. I then put hair in my ususal 2 large magnetic (1 in front, 1 in back) wrapped and when to sleep. This morning, my hair is looking like I did after the touchup!

So, my new motto is not to fight the humidity by putting tons of stuff on my hair, just try work with it, and if that doesn't work, oh well, thank the good Lord I got me some hair to be messing with . . .

Lindy, I live in Orlando, so u can only imagine! HUMID CITY. Im originally from TN, and then I moved to FL. When I went home to TN to visit, my hair was looking SOO nice and all I got were compliments all over the place. When I got back to FL, my hair will not cooperate with me AT ALL. It frizzes out in 2.5 seconds after styling it--usually before I even leave the house. WHY ME??????? Even when I do a braidout, it still loses the wave and looks like a fro by the end of the day!!! Whats a sister to do. The products trying to help the frizz are piling in.

I went to a salon to buy some keracare silk n seal, but the stylist recommended this other stuff they had called straight effects bc its the same thing but more concentrated to it would shield humidity more. Well I used it yesterday as a test...I washed and conditioned and applied my salerm and then a nickel amount of the straight effects, then let it mostly air dry, then ran the blow dryer through it on low(I dont normally blow dry but I was in a hurry)...then I ran my ceramic flat iron over then ends with a little more of the straight effects to seal them. I wore it up in a clip bc I didnt feel like or have time to flat iron my whole head. I must say that the ends didnt poof out when I went out to eat with my boyfriend AND it was not only its usual hot and humid, but it had just rained! this stuff could be my new best friend! Ill have to try it with no direct heat for the real test (sit under dryer or air dry).

Also I bought some phytodefrisant antifrizz relaxing balm and will try that one soon.

Actually I just remembered one of the promises the CHI makes is that it repels humidity...time will tell, I'll be out of braids just in time to test it out.

Humidity is the reason I got that dreadful failed relaxer a a couple weeks ago, and why I wish I could walk around with paper bags on now..Granted, my hair is about 95% underprocessed so it's gonna be frizzy away, it now gets soooo huge its ridiculous! A few minutes ago I shellacked it with castor oil...maybe that'll help

sorry Tracy, I meant my hair frizzed up real bad and looked like a was about 2 years past due for a relaxer, so I got one and it didnt turn out so well

lol @ cheerbear (2 yrs past due for a relaxer),
I know what you mean, I had to learn that lesson the hard way too! I dont want to get a relaxer for at least 8 weeks at a time(hopefully 10-12) but let my hairdresser bully me into getting one at 6 weeks (bc I had "SO MUCH" new growth). Well it did nothing positive for me, she left it on too long, and burnt my scalp. It definitely didnt help with the humidity. Plus the shedding I was having (which according to her was bc I needed a perm) didnt stop afterwards, I think it was even worse.

Finally I *think* have it under control, but from now on I wont get a relaxer that soon again.

Sorry about your hair Lindy! You know how I feel about this
