I rollerset my hair today and after 2 hours my hair was a  wreck!!

What do you ladies do to keep your curls or style in the midst of weather.

I've heard that Sabino's Moisture/Humidity block as an excellent product for preserving a straight, sleek look without frizzing up. There are several threads on the product.

I used to do "up-do's" during humid periods.

Now, my hair seems to hold a style by using John Frieda's Frizz Ease. It claims to create "an instant barrier that helps seal out humidity and combat frizz, rain or shine".

I'm a believer!

I've given up trying to fight humidity. I just let it help moisturize my hair now. When it's humid out or there's a chance of rain, I apply a mixture of honey, olive butter and chardonnay grape seed oil to my hair. It adds gloss and because the honey is humectant it helps draw more moisture to my hair. I put it up in a high, braided ballet bun and go.

I can't beat it so I might as well work with it.:)

ITA. That's a good idea.

Thanks for the help ladies. It was just so disheartening after I did my hair this morning for it to turn to mess after the humidity and slight mist. I guess it'll just have to be updo's and soak up some of God's moisture for my hair. :)

I fight back with a really nice silk scarf. i wear it until i get to where ever i am going.
Same here. My silk and satin scarves are used every day and night. I wear it in humidity even after using my Aveda Anti-Humectant, which is very good but not 100%.

I also like working with the humidity by wearing braidouts, if I'm wearing my hair down. Sometimes I'll take out my braids/plaits in the restroom of my destination if it's raining and finish styling my braidout that way.

I officially lost the battle w/ humidity a long time ago. There is no product on the market that has helped me. In humid weather I just wear my hair natural which is only enhanced by the humidity. I won't even attempt to wear it straight.

I gave up my fight against humidity a long time ago. Truth be told humidity was one of the biggest reasons I stopped straightening my hair via relaxers. It had grown to be far too much of a headache to avoid hair reversion during humid times. So I decided to go with the flow and embrace those humid days. I did the texturizer thing for a while and I gave those up too. Now I'm glad I'm natural because I'm spending less time, energy and money fighting humidity for the sake of a hairstyle. My hair has thanked me and thrived because of it.

It's rainy today and I'm going out later. The hair will be up; you can put up a good fight, but you really just can't win against nature.

aveda brilliant emollient finishing gloss on wet hair before blowdrying has significantly decreased the bad hair days due to humidity.

I agree. I dont attempt to fight it. When in florida, I just pull it up or wear braids and call it day.
