I take the time out to fix my hair and it's fine until I go outside. Where I'm from the weather is humid and it jacks up my hair everytime. I wore a braid out to work the other day and I looked like Diana Ross by the time I got off. What do I do

, are any of you ladies experiencing this, I'm at the point of wearing buns and braids for the rest of the summer!

I had to look and make sure this wasnt MY post...lol:) I have the same problem! I hope some ppl have some suggestions! I live in Fl...by the way are u an LPN? Im going to LPN school in the fall, and after that I plan to take the RN bridge program.

LoL. the same thing happened to me. This morning hair straight. When I went outside, POOFFF. I think it's inevitable. Nothing ever keeps my hair down. So now, me and you look like Diana.

I gave up on straight styles since I started airdrying. Last summer I wore only buns (after finding LHCF). This year I wear braidouts and more recently my new braided style. I've learned that airdrying my hair keeps moisture in and helps work with the humidity. I also use Aveda Anti-Humectant (I know it's not for everyone's hair) on my relaxed hair to seal in moisture after washing and after my leave-in and to prevent outside moisture from reverting my hair. I apply just a little each day over my braidouts or whatever style I have, after moisturizing. Some have found success using this on their relaxed straight styles.

Not sure, but since serums seal your hair, I wondered if applying one before going out might help keep the humidity out. Downside though is you'll need to wash your hair before you can add moisture to it. In other words, apply the serum on your damp hair before you twist or braid, then when you undo for your twist-out or braid-out, I'm assuming the style will hold for the day.

Yes I am an LPN (3yrs now) and I'm also getting my BSN through a bridge program . I have one semester of pre-reqs to go before I can get in and it's a 9 month program so I'm really humpin right now.

Dare I say it?

What about hair spray? I straightened my hair this past weekend and forgot why I loathe straight hair. I need to keep it straight for the weekend as well for a party (OUTSIDE!) and I am using a little hair spray to keep it somewhat in tact.

Hey ladies, I used to experience the saaaame problem. It was so annoying, especially if I had worked so hard on my hair

. But, I had to realize that the weather calls for certain hair styles. The wintertime is when I can go outside with my ponytails (gel or no gel), ponypuffs, or twistouts because my hair will not puff out and curls will not snap back when the air is cool. Now, that the weather is warming up, I focus on twists, the best hairstyle that holds down my hair. Another good one is braided extentions. When I get hot and sweat, I know my twists aren't going to 'poof'

This happens to me every summer when the humidity is too much. Today I had my hair in a braidout style. My hair was braided the night before, and this morning, it looked so nice and curly (I have type 3a/b hair that curls naturally). I kept my hair moist by misting with distilled water. By afternoon, I have poofed up hair. My brother called me Chaka Khan because of my hair. What's a girl to do?

ITA with the other 2 posts. I'll be braiding my own hair tomorrow. I just need to get some excellent serum to keep the frzz down.

For those who have this experience, why not try Physique styling gel or other products from the line? They last for 20 hours, even under humid conditions.

This is funny that you posted this mytialpn, because I said just earlier today that I looked like Diana Ross by the hair!
