Okay, is it just me or do any of you run into this....I can't seem to keep a weave in my hair for more than a month. It doesn't matter what kind of hair I use..(milky way or indian remy) How much I spend ($80-$250) or how long it took to install, after a month I just can't take it anymore...it needs to come out.

I take good care of it and all...daily moisturizing, wash and condition once a week. It's not that my scalp is itching, the weave looks old or I have so much growth underneath it's beginning to look like a hat (Or one of the many sane reasons peeps take their weaves out) It's simply because I can't stand the same look for more than a month.

.....I prob shouldn't be doing weaves huh?? Am I the only one who has this "change-your-look-ever-so-frequently-syndrome" ?????

i have the exact same problem!

i need constant change , my hands is always in my hair weather its cutting weave braiding whatever. i cant stand one style for long
that why i cant braid my hair with extensions because i go thru all that and then a month later its out!

thats why wigs, clip in extensions, and my natural hair are my best frend, it allows me to style and change my hair up all the time.

I've taken a weave out in a week because I missed my hair, so a month really isn't that bad. That's usually the longest I can keep a weave in. Maybe you should learn to do them yourself, that way you won't waste money.

I use to have that problem. I would stay in my weave for 3-4 weeks and take it out. Right now I'm 7 weeks into my weave. My goal is to wait 3 months. When I think about the extra length I will retain if I wait longer to take the weave out helps. one month vs. three months is equivalent to recieving 1/2 inch vs. 1 1/2, I'll take the latter. Another thing that has helped me is to treat the weave like it is my hair. when I want to wash and deep condition, I do so. When I want to treat myself to the Dominican salon, I do so. I try different styles. I also make sure that my weave hair is identical to my real texture.
Right now my weave hair is a little more versatile than my own because it is longer and can deal with heat and styling better.

CICI24,

You're right, it might be more versatile if I had some of my hair out. I should have mentioned that I'm all natural (of the 4b variety) and so I do full sew-in weaves when I get them done. The result: One-way style forever!!:wallbash:

i learnt to do weaves myself because I too suffer from 'missmyhairititis'. It cost way to much to keep going to a stylist!! Net weave is the best method I found.

I used to be able to wear weaves for two or three months at a time, but since going natural, I can't keep a style. I miss my hair when I wear weave.
