How to put my hair in a bun

Good evening ladies,
I am always reading about naturals being able to put their hair in a bun. I looking for a protective style that looks nice and elegant but I can leave my hair alone for a couple of days. My hair is right coils and looks short but when I stretch it. It is about shoulder length hair. Please help in techniques how to put it in a bun and what products I might need. Thanks.

On wash day you will need to get your hair into a stretched state by either banding, curlformers, or drying in several plaits. Once it is dry and stretched, you can get a bun by putting it in a puff similar to your picture.

2nd method works well on an old braidout/twistout/bantu knot out too(I use the method)
