How to measure NG?

***Please I excuse the title, I guess I was a little tired or something.**

This maybe a stupid question but, are you guys measuring NG stretched or the way it grows?

I dont know if this is the right technique, but I measure my NG as it is, I dont stretch it or manipulate it when measuring. Never really thought of doing it any other way.

I stretch my NG to measure it.

I strech it. So that I know the actual length. Plus, depending on the hair growth aid I use, my curl pattern length is different

ETA: Wow! I am so slow, the title should be "How to MEASURE NG?" Oh well, I don't know how to change it.

If I were to measure I would measure it stretched because that is the actual length.
