How to do your own individuals?

I've never worn micros, but I have worn individual braids. If you can plait, you can do you own. The most basic method is to fold the extension hair in half, hold it close the scalp with a section of your own hair in between the two halves. Then just plait as if it were your own hair.
The main thing is practicing, practicing, practicing until your hands are sure. DO NOT braid to tight, part carefully (or not!) and you're good to go! I suppose micros would just be using smaller sections of your own hair and smaller sections of extension hair. You would only braid down far enough that the braid was secure and leave the ends free.
There are also good instructions online and on dvd. Do a search for some titles.

Go to www.growafrohairlong.com for the Crown and Glory website. There is a video to download that shows how to do individ. braids. Shoot, as soon as these braids are out I'm going to practice doing them by myself and pay MYSELF $60 everytime I do it!!

ITA! I had been trying to do my own braids for awhile--but never could. I saw her little demo- and BAM! I had my first set of braids in the next week!
