How to care for underprocessed ends after using Affirm

Hello Ladies

Just a question:

How do I care for my under processed ends after receiving my Affirm Fiberguard ( Mild strength ) relaxer.

My ends are wavy/curly/course and roots seem much straighter. maybe it should be this way and just use flat iron.. Not sure

Should I wait for 8-12 weeks before applying the relaxer from roots to end again?

Or should I wait 8-12 weeks and just apply a relaxer to new growth? and just continue to condition only use flat iron to straighten ends out once a week... Need advice.

I will stick with Affirm mild strength since it didn't burn my scalp and I saw some results.

Will be interesting to see the responses to this as I had the same problem although I didn't use the mild strength and my hair is super-coarse and it seems as though the ends just laughed at the stuff and nothing happened.

I am real reluctant to do a corrective because I haven't been having much breakage and don't want to start it. But its real annoying and time consuming because i have these literal curly ringlets on the ends in the back

Per Avalon, the fiberguard relaxers are formulated to not fully straighten the hair. It is meant for people who will use color in their hair. It has polymers that help retain some of the strength and texture.They said no matter how long you leave it on, it will not get really straight, like a regular lye relaxer.

I had a touchup in October where it was used and it took two touchups for my hair not to wave up in the back where my hair is thickest. I was super careful with handling my hair and I had no problems other than being annoyed with the difference in texture. My roots seemed straight at first but at one week post, my roots felt like they wanted to mat. My only advice is to baby your hair, keep it moisturized and deep conditioned.

The lady at Avlon suggested I break out the flat iron, but I refused to do that. I could never get a definitive answer on whether a corrective would actually change things.Since it was winter I just did protective styles. 2 touchups later, everything is all good again. HTH
