how soon do you wash post-relaxer retouch?

I was asking because i have noticed that after a retouch, my hair smells like the chemical. It almost makes me paranoid to think that mayble the stylist didn't wash all of the relaxer out. Have you ever thought the same thing?

Yeah I noticed that too. But I think when you perspirate you can really smell it. But I wait atleast a week before I wash it.

Well, maybe what I should ask is how do you know whether all of the relaxer was washed properly out of your hair.

If you think you still have the chemicals in your hair, you should wash it again. My hair has never smelled like the relaxer chemicals after I got a relaxer. Wash your hair with a neutralizing shampoo.

I've noticed this smell as well. Like rotten eggs or something. I didn't know that you weren't supposed to smell it.

I think I would rewash immediately if I did. I normally wash 1 week after my retouch.

I wash three days after a relaxer as my hair is usually very greasy and sticky yuck!

I wash with a neutralizing shampoo as soon as I get home because I'm paranoid about not neutralizing properly ( I had severe breakage some time ago because of this problem).

I usually wash 1 week after a re-touch. I can never smell the relaxer as my hairdresser practically drowns me with water when he is rinsing out

It depends on what hairstyle I got and if I like the style. Last time I got what was suppose to be a bodywrap but it was a greasy stuck down to my scalp mess. I washed that out two days later. BUT if my hair looks good and I like the style I tend to wait at least three to five days before I wash it out.

Well, I relaxed this past Thursday and went ahead and washed it out last night. That post relaxer smell was driving me crazy. Now, I am back to my granny bun.
