How many types of conditioners do you use in one "hair session?"

It seems like to cover all the bases we need a DC, a rinse, and a leave-in. Is everyone doing all these steps? Is this overload? Am I missing any steps?

Well, if your deep conditioner helps detangle, you might not need to follow it with a rinse. They only time I follow a conditioner with another rinse out conditioner is when I do heavy duty protein treatments. In those cases, another moisturizing conditioner is a must. Generally speaking I use two conditioners each session. A deep conditioner and a leave in. If I am doing a pre-poo treatment I might use a cheap 99cent conditioner and a little oil.

I only use a deep conditioner (Humecto) and a leave in (Elucence). I've never tried a rinse.

Every time I DC (I prepoo), it's preceding a detangling session. So if I DC, I will apply a rinse out only if I'm shampooing in between the prepoo/DC and detangling.

So it's either: DC/Poo/Rinse out/Leave-in or it's DC/Leave-in

One instant and one leave-in OR one DC and one leave-in.

ETA: Sometimes I use my instance conditioner as a leave-in. In those cases I don't use a leave-in.

I use 4 conditioners total:

ORS Hair Mayo with Raw Mango butter and Amla or Vatika oil for my Pre-poo.

Aveda Smooth Infusions and Nexxus Phyto Humectress after Aveda SI shampoo.

Lacio, Lacio for leave-in. Sometimes, I will splash a little Infusions 23.

My hair is like :lick:, when it's all said and done.

If I use a dc I don't use a rinse and viceversa. I use a leave in regardless of the type of conditioner I use.

So do you alternate between DC and rinse? For example, on wash day do you DC then leave-in and on CO-wash day rinse and leave-in? Also when doing a protein treatment do you protein, then moisture or rinse, then leave-in?

It depends on how far along I am into my stretch:

Up to 6 weeks post I just use a DC & sometimes a Leave-in.
After 6 weeks post I use a DC, Rinse & Leave-in.

No less than 2, sometimes I just have to start all over when the results
are iffy. A Rinse out, sometimes a deep con, then a leave-in..sometimes 2 leave-ins.
