How long after henna should I

Henna is said to last a few months because it is a permanent treatment so you can't use any chemical hair dyes for a good few months otherwise you'll have a problem. Some people did however use henna after the permanent dye and vice versa and didn't have any problems... so... I advice you to do a couple of strand tests and see what happens... if nothing bad seems to happen I guess you'll be ok to dye.

I would like to try a henna treatment. Can any of you recommend a brand? Pics of the product would be great too.

Curlykutie, I would definitely wait a few months before adding chemicals to a henna treatment. Like KumakoXsd said, you can dye and then henna within a few weeks, but you cannot henna and then dye.

knt1229 Jamila henna is a very popular type of henna. To be safe, I would start with that. Sometimes those just venturing into henna use compounded henna and end up with damaged hair. Just make sure the henna you use is Body Art Quality (BAQ)

Here is my youtube how-to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDhwbw3QfLI

I though if you did not use BAQ henna, you would have a problem with conventional hair dyes because of the aluminum salts that's in a lot of the store brought stuff. With BAQ henna, you should be safe after a while - so I thought.

I use rajasthani henna but I know a lot of people love jamilia. I get my henna online as there aren't many indian stores within a reasonable distance to order mine fro.
