I'm thinking about giving this a try since I've heard so many raves on how moisturizing it is. So how do you all use it exactly? For your ends, do you mix it with conditioner, just use it to hold down your ends in a bun or ponytail, use as is as a moisturizer? How much?
Also what brand do you use and how much is it approx.?

I add it to my leave in same brand as above.

I have "Fruit of the Earth" brand (I believe that's the name of it), but I still haven't figured out how to use it

i use the aubrey organics aloe mixed with giovanni leave in and GPB conditioners.. i never apply it to dry hair...

i have the pure aloe plant , i used the juice and pulp inside and use as a deep treatment and when i put a shower cap on at night i saturate the ends with aloes. Also when i want to control my newgrowth i put the aloe juice directly on it

it's not bad at all. my brother happens to apply it with jojoba oil to his dry hair. it makes it so soft....... i, however, have relaxed hair; and it makes it too soft and poofy when i apply it my hair when it is dry....ugh

You just use the aloes alone for a deep conditoner or do u mix it with something else. I came home and found a plant that I have growing nicely...so I want to put it in my hair

Pantene Hair Gel

aloe vera gel is excellent especially if u have curly hair. It moisturizes, gives excellent form formation while protecting your hair from humidity. It doesn't necessarily have to be aloe vera gel though. Pantene has a gel in its curl line and I love it!!! It doesn't contain any alcohol. I just condition wash, apply my leave in mixture and then the gel to hold the style. I can't stop raving about this product!!! It is all that if u wear your hair naturally curly.

so you just put the gel on your hair while it's wet and the curls naturally form?
Also, what is this gel called? It's not the scrunching gel is it?

It's this one:

U can scrunch your hair if u want more curl formation and definitely use it while your hair is damp. I originally applied it when my hair was almost dripping wet, but it made my hair too curly!! Like poodle curly. Also I use it after applying the glycerine/jojoba oil mix. Keep in mind u may not have to use the same amount of gel all the time. I use alot when it's humid out or sometimes none at all when the weather is fine.

By the way are u permed or natural?? I don't know how it'll work for permed hair.

Thanks! I'm texturized so my hair is still VERY curly.

Re: Pantene Hair Gel

I use it on my hair right after I rinse. It "calms" my frizzies and defines my curls.

*adding aloe vera and Pantene gel to my "gotta try it" list*

Re: Pantene Hair Gel

I use Aubrey Organics Aloe Vera Gel. I add 1 to 1.5 oz.
to my leave-in spray conditoners. I also apply it to my edges (for smoothness) when I wear a bun.

Re: Pantene Hair Gel

My aloe vera gel, is not a gel, per se, like styling gels as we know them, but is pure aloe gel that some people take by the spoonsful every day as a dietary supplement, and which the sales lady told me would spoil if I didn't refrigerate it. I told her it was for my hair, not to ingest. So she said it would be fine then unrefrigerated. I mixed it with my leave in, a watery concoction by Profective, the purply one that looks like it has some oil in it too, and I just spitzed it on as a leave-in last night. I roller set it on big rollers while reading posts here, then I took it down and wrapped it. This morning it was beautiful, but not as shiny as i like it. HTH

Re: Pantene Hair Gel

bimbabe - i use it alone or just use a cheap conditioner with it (VO5)
If i have time i would do a deep conditioner afterwards.

Updating my comment above...

I used my aloe vera gel today. I skipped my CO rinse; instead I misted my hair with my homemade moisturizer (distilled water, Pantene Hydrating Curls conditioner, pure glycerine, Hot 6 oil, VO5 Detangle & Shine Leave In) then applied the Aloe Vera Gel through out, gather my hair to the back & made a pin up twisty (like the one in my album).

Well, this gel is really wonderful

. In fact, I luv the soft hold that it gives. It's now 10 hrs later & my hair still looks nice... smooth (I have a side part with the hair draped across my forehead), shiney, very, very wavy
smile.gif
. Oh another thing, my new growth is really luving this gel
smile.gif
. I have mega "wet looking" defined waves although my hair is plenty dry. If I have time after leaving work tonight, I might take/add a pic of this in my album

DEFINITELY A HAIR KEEPER

. Gotta get a big bottle of this

Just bought my aubrey organics aloe mixed and giovanni leave in and GPB conditioners!!! Wow!!! I spent a lot of $$$$ on these items
nuts.gif
I am praying that these products are good and well worth it!!! I'll add the aloe vera to the giovanni leave in and hope for the best...

How does Aloe Vera Gel benefit the body when ingested? I bought a bottle with instructions for ingestion.
