How do YOU use Miss Jessie's curly pudding??

I bought a sample pack of Miss Jessie's products over Christmas. I tried to use the Curly Pudding last night but it was a disaster because after detangling with my paddle brush, I could feel that my hair was curly/defined....but then for some reason I took my wide toothed comb and detangled again....which did the equivalent to "picking out" my hair....like with a pic So there were no curls to even define with my curly pudding.

Anyways...I want to try it again this weekend. For those of you that do use CP, how do you use it on your hair to define your curls? At what point do you apply it? Is your hair soaking wet when you put it on? Do you shingle with it....or just "wash and go"?

I didn't like the CP either. It just dried my hair up and made it look like a cottonball. I like the meringue though.

I just fingercombed it through wet hair. Then I let it airdry.
