I am under a bit of stress right now:confused: and I notice it's taking a toll on my hair. I've been noticing a lot of pieces of hair on my back after I comb in the last week and a half to two weeks. Apart from reducing my stress levels, what can you ladies suggest for stopping breakage quickly before it gets worse?
Thank you in advance:) . I know you all give great advice.

Well, what are you trying to reduce your stress levels. I know when the stressed, it will empty out the b vitamin stores so try to eat more of them while you are stressed. Try a nightly bubble bath with some lavender salts to relax ya mind;)

I do a protein treatment (Nexxus Emergency--or Keraphix, depending on how bad i feel the breakage is) followed by a moisturizing DC. That always gets me back on track.

I highly advise you do a protein treatment followed my a deep conditioning with a moisturizing conditioner. This should halt it a lot. I have used drc 28 and essations with good results. Emergencee by nexxus will work as well and probably the least costly of the other treatments.

I would go for a qualitity conditioner. My fav is Kenra Moisturizing Conditioner. I also use Mizani Moistureinfuse. Which ones do you have on hand right now?

3 months ago my hair was falling out by
the handfulls and I have no idea why...
I started daily co-washing with Mane N Tail
Original Conditioner, threw away all my brushes
and only detangled in the shower.
It worked immediately.

Hey Honey,

Stress is usually associated with shedding and I see that you associated it with breakage.

If your hair is shedding, the hair comes out from the root with a little white bulb on it. I once had excessive shedding and used Affirm 5 in 1 and it stopped the shedding dead in its tracks. I dont know how it worked but it did.

If your hair is breaking, I would suggest a heavy protein treatment like DRC 28 or Aphogee Treatment for Damaged hair. Both of these treatments shoudl be followed up with a moisturizer. I would do these treatments every 6-8 weeks with weekly moisturizing treatments for 45 min in between.

Good Luck! I know it is much easier said than done but try not to be so stressed!

IA with SerenityBreeze. You should see the root ball if it's stress related.
I use nexxus emergencee or affirm's fiberguard to halt breakage.

Interesting what some of you said about stress and shedding. This is definitely breakage though. I want to stop it now. So to do that, I'll go out and source some Nexxus Emergencee and a good DC. Thank you all very much.:)

Agreed. I like Aphogee's protein treatment. It has given me great results. Try exercising, yoga, or prayer for relaxation as well. They are very helpful for me especially the latter when I am in stressful stretches of time.

Sounds silly, but I saw an immediate stop to my breakage after using MTG. I know some people can't stand the smell, but it doesn't bother me. Plus, I only use it at night so that the smell has a chance to calm down by the morning. HTH.

Thanks for the recomendations. Right now I don't have any quality conditioners, but if I have to do a heavy protien treatment then I'll keep these two conditioners in mind.
