I know it's good to use a water based moisturizer. And I love my s curl but I think it's making my ends look frizzy to the point where it doesn't even look like I have a relaxer. I might just have to use the s curl only on my new growth and find something else. Does anyone else have this problem? TIA.

I'm not going to be very helpful, lol. I know what you mean though. I moisturize with Humectress and Salerm 21, and always put some oil (Island Mango or Keracare essential oil) on top. Then I bun or french twist. When I take it down it is so soft, silky and moisturized, but after some time....well, it 'grows' lol.

It seems to frizz out less if I have used somethinglike the Hollywood olive oil moisturizer. bTW I am relaxed too, and what I described above is without flatironing or anything. Airdryed hair. But the results would be the same on ironed hair...POOF!

^ yeah it seems like i might have to use a cream moisturizer like the hollywood olive . but at least you can put it in a bun or a twist. i don't have enough hair for a bun :ohwell: i know it would look better if i flat ironed but what would be the point of moisturizing everyday just to flat iron everyday u know?

When I moisturize I bun.... as the cream moisturizer gives my hair that wet/curly look (but not in the good way!)

scurl messed up my hair, i hate hate HATE IT WITH A PASSION!

anywho. I definately agree with a watery based oil moisturizer...any brand will do! even the motions one was excelllent. the key is to have your hair a little spritzed with water at first (preferabley filtered, distilled). then lightly scrunch the oil moisturizer into your hair, and then use a light oil (coconut, jojoba, avocado) and lightly "glaze" your hair and ends with a small blob. your hair should be very defined and moisturized/shiney into curls or spirals (because of the scrunching or "plopping" i've seen people call it). i've been doing this for the past few months and i wish i practised it earlier! good look :)

After applying the S-Curl, try following up with a thick oil like Castor oil.
Always worked for me when I was relaxed :)

I find if I spray the S-Curl in my hand and apply it to slightly damp hair, it leaves my hair soft, silky, full, and bouncy and the perfect moisture balance. The key is not to over-moisturize which will do some strange things to my hair (aka "growth" problems and crazy ends). Really, a little S-Curl goes a long way! HTH.

My old stylist from Tennessee told me to apply mayonnaise to my ends when I deep condish and then apply my regular deep conditioner and put on a plastic cap and sit under the dryer for 20-30 mins and see how much of a difference your ends look using the mayonnaise
