How do you make your presses last long?

As many already know, I'm thinking about going natural so that as well as when summer rolls around are gonna cause my presses to poof out real quick. I was wondering if anything that you use before flat ironining or any particular method allows you to have your press last longer?

I've used Dudley Creme press in the past, but now I just put a little Keracare Essent. Oils. then I wrap at night(well, as soon as I get in the house)

I press but only once a month and my press only last for three days because after the third day I start my conditioner washes again. I then put my hair in protective bun with vaseline on the ends to lock in moisture.

I'm transitioning, and I use a ceramic flat iron with a little Kemi oil right at the roots. I usually flat iron my hair at night and wrap it right away, then every night after that, and it lasts for about a week.

I'm transitioning also and I've had my hair straightened 3 times and all times my hair stayed straight. I usually roll it at night or wrap a scarf around it and let it hang loose in the back (sleeping on satin pillowcase, of course).

I'm not sure what products the stylists used on my hair but I straightened my hair this weekend and I used CD Hair Milk to moisturize my hair while it air dried. Then, I used Aveda smoothing fluid and Pantene Heat Protectant before I straightened it with a big barrel conair curling iron.

I posted on this not to long ago and was told to try castor oil. You should search this topic you'll find my post and I can remember another one that was about this topic posted not to long ago too. I would search, but I want to continuce to read other post, maybe I'm a little lazy. LOL! But anyway, this should help.

I don't wear a press longer than a week. My scalp starts to itch by then.

I use avocado and sometimes olive oil as I flatiron with my ceramic iorn. After I'm done, I use just a little castor oil for shine.

I was natural for 2 and a half years. When I was natural I used to press and my presses could last a long time I almost went two weeks but I had to wash my hair. The key to making presses last longer is to do a henna treatment right before pressing don't shampoo the henna out rinse it out until all the granules are out of your hair. Then spray hair with Lustrasilk hair culture spray and try and use a presing creme with silicons in it. flat iron and at night either wrap your and tie it up with a satin scarf for straight styles or pincurl for curly styles and use a satin bonnet. Trust me this will work. Oh yeah use wildgrowth oil on your hair to maintain it until your next wash. Make sure to add conditioners and oils to your henna before applying it to your hair.

Isn't henna a hair dye? I didn't know you can you use it for a pressing treatment.

Neutral henna? Does it still dye your hair though? Also, how does this help with pressing hair?

To all the ladies with naturally curly hair, when you press, does it permanently stretch out your curl pattern? Do you ever notice that your curls don't revert back to its original curl pattern?

If this doesn't happen to you, then what are you doing to your hair to prevent it from happening?
