How Do You Make A Fabric Snood/Bun Cover?

I wanted to make some snoods/bun covers but with fabric instead of yarn. I don't know if I'm into the crochetlook. If you were to take one apart, is it just a big circle with elastic at the end? This has to be much easier than I think it is /images/graemlins/scratchchin.gif !

I've searched the web for instructions, but all the sites I found were for crocheting them. If anyone has any tips, advice or references I'd really appreciate it.
