Dr. Naptrl :)
I got micros before and when my hair got wet or moist...my TWA curled up and tried to come out!! I had all these little curls ALL over my head!! I'm afraid to wash my cornrows, too, since my hair is only about 3.5 inches. I'm afraid the same thing will happen, but I want to leave them in for a month at a time, so I hate to wash my hair only once a month. I do seabreeze my scalp every few days, though!! HELP...

naptrl, I have micros now and I wash 1X week. To keep my hair from sticking out after applying my braid spray I tie my hair down with a scarf. This usally keep the strays in check. Hope this helps.

you can flat iron your hair before you braid it. that will make is straight, smooth, and it wont curl up unless you wet it!

Well I think she's wanting to wash it.

For me, the scarf was the key as well. I just tied it down after washing/wetting and it kept it relatively smooth looking. I've also tried a serum (I believe it was fantasia) before putting on the scarf and that made it even better.

What kind of hair are you using? Human? Synthetic? Straight? Wavy? Curly? Maybe it would be better if you got hair that closer matched your hair texture.

And it probably doesn't look as bad as you think. I always thought my braids looked too fuzzy after awhile, but that's just because I was looking too close and comparing it to freshly done braids. Everyone else thought it looked great!
