How do you get your hair silky and straight after washing?

Hey,

This is a question I have been asking myself for quite a while, I will relax my hair pretty soon and I still don't know how I am going to get my hair straight and bouncy without blowdrying or applying heat!

What do you guys do to get your hair to look like you just left the salon back then when I used to be relaxed, washed my hair and let it airdry it turned out looking like a frizzy mess!:nono:

With a fresh relaxer? You could try a air-drying in a roller set, but it would take forever for it to dry completely (or at least my hair does). Then, at a little oil or serum and wrap. My SL hair falls nicely from this, but it's still not the straight from the salon look.

Your hair looks really long from your avatar. You can aidry in ponytail sections, with rollers in the ponytails. It should dry sleek and smooth rather than frizzy. My hair used to airdry frizzy until I learned the right leave-ins to use for my hair.

HTH, hopefully more people will chime in...

Hello Teja,
I know that people have all sorts of methods of doing this, but the most common way of getting straight and silky hair is after doing a rollerset. You can rollerset and use indirect heat (hooded dryer) or airdry and then wrap - (see macherieamour! I think she blows her roots, some people don't do this but still get good results).

For me, airdrying in a rollerset gives more shinier and healthy looking results, but just takes ages if your hair is long.

But depending on how straight you've relaxed your hair, you could experiment with bantu knot sets (gives you a wavy look) etc.

HTH, I'm sure others will come in with more advice.

My sister does an incredible rollerset on the Annie's purple 1 3/4" rollers. She takes her time and makes sure the ends are smooth and rolled starting at the very end of the hair and rolled from there. Everytime she has done it, I just keep a scarf on and let it dry on its own which usually takes about a day or so, as she does the parts of hair so thin they dry quickly. It comes out incredibly, I am so proud of her. It's like a dominican blowout without the heat, or over manipulation.

My hair was never silky straight when I was textlaxed. :nono: It wasn't until I relaxed that my rollersets+ airdry + saran wrapped hair came out bouncin'. Oh, and learning how to only use a small amount of leave in helped too. :yep:

Hmm...I looking for that smooth, fresh from the salon look myself. What products are you ladies using for your rollersets?
