How do you find a good colorist???

I've never had a great color job in an African American salon, I am thinking of letting a white salon do my color or a black stylist in a white salon who does hair of both races....how have you girls found a good colorist??? My last salon coloring experience, my hair was far too brassy....

I think I would just really pay attention to females with colored hair. And then when you do see a color that you like and you like her hair just approach her and ask her who colors her hair. That's probably the best way to do it.
