Hi ladies,

I am almost 15-weeks post. I have been underprocessed for over a year now. I plan on relaxing in a few weeks, and I may try to do a corrective as well.

What tips do any of you have to share? Do you recommend against it?

Thanks

I would do the following:

- The wash before your relaxer, use a protein treatment like keraphix to make sure that all of your hair is in tip-top conditon.

- Prior to applying the relaxer to your new growth, coat the previously relaxed hair with product to shield it from the relaxer (like Profectiv Breakfree). Apply MORE product to the sections you are fine with and LESS on the underprocessed sections.

-The last 5 minutes or so, smooth the relaxer onto the underprocessed hair. Get it to your desired straightness because this should be your only time doing a corrective.
