Hey girls...

One of my best friends is transitioning to natural, so I've been trying to offer up insight and advice and be supportive. :) Things have been going ok for her so far since she lives in Atlanta with a decent amount of moisture in the air, but she mentioned some serious breakage from the last time she pooed. So I suggested deep conditioning and she said she had done that. I suggested ApHogee but she didn't wanna go that heavy. The only thing I know of is Keraphix that would be light but effective. I know some people have used Elasta QP Breakage Control Serum with success....

Any other suggestions????

Whenever I see breakage I pick up my bottle of Aubrey's GPB. I always have some on hand. This stops my breakage immediately. Its a light protein but it makes my hair very soft and detangles like nothing else. Its one of my staples. I use it twice a month with no problems.

I just discovered ORS Replenishing Pak. That works pretty well too although I'm not sure that is a protein.

I have started using ChocolateHead by Tigi..it is made of Keratin. I has helped alot with breakage. I use this once a month or so.

I use Motions CPR when I see breakage and it usually stops the shedding. If I don't have the CPR, I use a protein treatment, I have used Aubrey Organics GPB and Motions Reconstructor.

I use the following when I am experiencing breakage:

Nexxus Emergencee (not as heavy as Apohgee)
Apohgee intensive keratin reconstructor (not as heavy but very effective)
AO GPB (all natural)
Eqyuss Mega tek rebuilder (very light)
Jamaican black castor oil (can be applied to ends or in a deep conditioner)
Dominican conditioners (deep conditioning)

I hope her breakage will stop soon and good luck to her with her transistion.

I co-wash daily and am used to seeing no more than a dozen or so hairs in my comb. When I start to notice more than usual I use Excelsior Millenia Mud reconstructor as a treatment. I generally don't lose any hair within the first few days of using it.

I got it at Sallys
Millenia Mud Reconstructor The directions say use for 2-4 minutes but I've put this on my head, covered with a plastic cap and left it on for a couple of hours while doing other things. Although I would recommend that the first time you use it to follow the instructions.

I have used aphogee reconstructor and it's not a bad product but I'm trying not to use any heat in my hair so it takes a long time for it to fully dry in my hair.

NEXXUS Emergencee immediately stops breakage or any crazy / severe shedding for me. I love it----- it is a definite staple !

co signing on nexxus emergencee as well. I used this product once a week for a month and my hair was very strong plus no breakage. My hair still shed though, but shedding was natural.

Honey and Lekair Cholestral seem to work for me, but I have no noticed any breakage since going natural.:)
