What is the technique that you all use? Let's say... for a wash-n-go.

Please share!! :)

TIA

When I use gel I always do it in the shower under running water...less frizzies that way. I can manipulate my hair into the style I want, and the water helps me style and detangle.
I usually just put the gel in my hands and rub it over my hair. Sometimes I scrunch since I have a little heat damage on the ends.

I used to be conservative with the gel since I did not want hard crunchy hair, but I noticed that my hair still frizzed and poofed up ugly. Now I use much more, sometimes 2 and 3 handfuls and have been getting better results.

After I wash my hair in 4 sections, I start with a smaller section in the back with my hair dripping wet and I add a bit of ecostyler to it until it starts to define my curl. I smooth it down the length of my hair adding gel little by little until my curls just pop!! I am a bit heavy handed with my gel. I also use my denman to detangle the ends and the gel helps add slip so it's easier to detangle. Once you brush with your denman your curls should pop back and/or you can finger twirl it so they're all uniformed.

I hope this helps!!

What are some great non flaky, non drying, non crunchy gels

I use ecostyler as that seems to have the best hold and it takes until about day 3 for frizzies to start appearing. By day 5 I have a cute curly afro!!

This time I melted some raw shea butter to ecostyler and used that for my wash n go. So far so good, but it's just been one day.

I haven't experienced any flaking, but it can be a little drying, hence me adding shea butter. As far as being crunchy my curls are hardened, but I wouldn't say it's crunchy.

Fantasia IC is good, but it doesn't have the hold ecostyler does for me. My hair gets frizzy a bit sooner using Fantasia, but I like it as well.

I hope this helps!
