How long can you leave it on? My cousin gave me half jar so I am experimenting tonite :) But, is it suppose to look like it has oil in it that needs mixing

Thanks for the input :)

I've been using it as a deep conditioner with heat at the beauty shop for the past three weeks and love it. For me, it works like a great deep conditioning and moisturizing mask. After deep condtioning.... I usually get a roller set. Here is the info on the product from the avlon website:

Affirm® Positive Link® Conditioner For Medium to Coarse Hair

Applied immediately after Affirm® Creme Relaxer is rinsed from hair. [At this stage, the hair is still alkaline, (pH 10) and cuticles remain partially open, allowing the most effective penetration of micro and macro-conditioners.]

Restores hair to its proper pH of 4.5 - 5.5.

Re-aligns, firms and seals cuticles to enhance shine.

Highly Recommended for Regular Salon Services As a Deep Penetrating Moisturizing Conditioner.

Hydrates and softens dry, brittle hair.

Repairs damaged areas within and on the surface of the hair shaft.

Imparts a beautiful shine.

Eases combing and eliminates static electricity.

Okay, for the longest I've tried to figure out what the difference between Positive Link and 5-in-1 is. I'm starting to gather that 5-in-1 is more of the protein/reconstructor kinda thing and Positive Link a serious moisturizing treament?? I'm wondering b/c my pjism is coming back, and I'm debating on getting the Positive Link or Design Essentials Stimulations. Thoughts? Suggestions? TIA!!

Bumping for some info. I have been eyeing the Positive Link for a while now. I have also considered the Design Essentials but have never tried anything from this line.

I use both products. I tend to use the 5n1 more frequently though. The positive link conditioner is my baby so I tend to use it only after I relax. It is hard to come by...as any affirm product is.

It feels great on your hair when it is warmed.

Miosy: Mines does not have any oil film to the top.

So Positive Link is moisturizing? My hair feels strengthened after 5-in-1, and since it says "Reconstructor", I only use it after relaxing and follow with Humecto.

I like the Design Essentials leave-in, but it wasn't spectacular. It's the only product I've ever tried. I think I'm gonna give the NTM leave-in a try, again. Too, I can get it at Wal-Mart.

Oh, and Irby's sells Positive Link, 5-in-1, and Stimulations :)!

I just got some from Irbys.com. They ship really fast. I was wondering, how long do you leave it in? The bottle says 5 min post chemical, For the lady who went to the salon, was it left in for 15-20 min? Also, do you notice any hardness? TIA

Which one did you buy? 5-in-1? If so, I leave it on 15-20 whether I'm using it after a relaxer or shampoo. Even before I use my next conditioner my hair has never been hard. HTH!

I bought the positive link. I already had the 5 in 1. I need more moisture right now, so I want to see if positive link moisturizes like humecto used to for me. Thanks so much for the info!;)

That's exactly why I'm gonna order it, too! I've used the 5-in-1 for over a year, now. Humecto just isn't the same (and of course I have a tub and a half)... And I want to alternate KeraCare (since I love everything else in the line) with my new love, Mizani. I'm in desperate need of moisture right about now! Please post a review, b/c I haven't ordered mine since the 4oz Silken Seal isn't back in stock, yet.

I tried the positive link today. left it in 20 min. My hair was mad tangled but moisturized. I think it was because of new growth and me scrunching my braids when shampooing. I also put on a cap after i applied elucence mb and did stuff around the house, which I think is not the move for me. My set turned out really nice, like it used to with humecto. I think I will reserve this for a post relaxer treatment, or if I need protein in case the protein played a role in the tangling.

I'm pretty sure I won't be ordering the Positive Link (shocked I hadn't already, lol). Any reviews/comparisons to the Sustenance Fortifying Treatment? I'm planning on buying two higher-end conditioner, trying some natural products from Vitamin Shoppe, and then joining the "Use It Up Challenge" before I end up broke, with jacked up, no room in my house, or a wicked combo of the preceeding!
